2017: EXPLOSIVE START FOR ABSOLUTE YACHTS

Cesare Mastroianni, Vp Sales and Cco of Absolute Yachts, holds the “Powerboat of the Year 2017” Prize won by the shipyard for its 50 Fly.

Absolute is one among the most fast-growing boating realities in the world and the beginning of 2017 confirms this trend. At the Boot Düsseldorf, the 50 Fly was honoured with the “European Powerboat of the year 2017” prize in the over 45 feet category. The boat received the award by an international jury made up of journalists of 15 different magazines who have preferred it to other excellent competitors:  the Azimut 66 Fly, the Cranchi Evolution 52 F, the Sunseeker Manatthan 52 and the Sealine F-530. According to the jury, ” the Absolute 50 Fly represents a perfect mix of Italian design, remarkable spaces, safe performances and easy handling. Despite a length below 50 feet, the boat offers a comfort level and sizes worthy of higher categories” . This is a real commendation for the research work and the constant improvement in the product proposal of the brand.

“The prize as boat of the year is a great source of satisfaction for us – told us Cesare Mastroianni, Vp Sales & Cco of Absolute Yachts. It’s the proof that insiders appreciate our work. The public reaction is, on the contrary, evident in numbers: over the last four years, we have registered a +2% growth every year in terms of turnover, geographical presence of our sales network, boats sold and employees”.

This growth is the result of the “Absolute Global Project“, a project which aims to make Absolute boats suitable for the different ways of living yachting in the world. ” Considering the different cultures of the potential owners, the different climates where boats will sail, the different usage factors. This is why, the 50 Fly, since her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016, has been sold from Sydney to Istanbul, passing through Hong Kong, China, Hamburg, USA and the Mediterranean”.

“We focus – claimed Mastroianni – on both nautical aspects and the way the boat is experienced. In Asia, for example, customers have particularly appreciated the party mode, a layout which enhances all the aspects making the yacht a place where to socialize; in Northern Europe, on the contrary, the family mode version is the most popular one since it offers an inner layout suitable for those who sail with no crew, but not necessarily, by enhancing guest areas”.

Following this amazing growth, last January 9th, the first step in the enlargement project of the Absolute production site was completed: the vertical warehouse, the assembly lines and the construction platforms has been doubled and the fiberglass lamination department has been enlarged by 20%. The enlargement project will be completed next July with the implementation of a new automated wood workstations hub.

But Absolute doesn’t stop. Last January 26th, in fact, the shipyard launched the 58 Fly, the first model of the new yacht generation made in Podenzano. It’s a new model not so much from an aesthetic point of view, even if it features innovative solutions such as side windows and a new stemhead fitting, but mostly because it wants to offer “more value for money”, providing with greater comfort, higher range and easier management. The 58 Fly features a new bottom, “specifically designed for the Volvo Penta D8 800 Dps 15 engines”, explains the manager. Moreover, this new member of the Absolute Fly family promises excellent performances. During the first sea trials, in fact, the shipyard has declared a 32-knot maximum speed in rough sea.
