Elegance, power, vision: the new Aquila 50 Sail and 45 Sport debut in Miami

Aquila Power Catamarans once again chooses the stage of the Miami International Boat Show to raise the bar on innovation. From February 11-15, the brand will present the world premieres of two models set to mark an important step in its evolution: the all-new Aquila 50 Sail, the shipyard’s first sailing catamaran, and the bold Aquila 45 Sport, the new flagship of the Sport range of power catamarans. Two debuts that fit into a lineup of no fewer than eight boats, confirming a clear strategy: offering different solutions for increasingly diverse cruising styles and lifestyles.

Aquila 50 Sail: Aquila’s entry into sailing

Announced at the Annapolis Sailboat Show 2025, the Aquila 50 Sail represents Aquila’s official entry into the world of sailing. This is anything but an improvised move: the project stems from the brand’s consolidated experience in power catamarans and from the management team’s high-level competitive sailing background.

The result is a sailing multihull that focuses on advanced composite construction techniques, rigorous quality controls, and layout solutions designed for modern cruising. Standout features include the fixed forward entertainment area, perfectly integrated with the cockpit, and the option to choose four-, five-, or six-cabin configurations, all with private access. The direct connection from the flybridge to the bow ensures smooth and safe circulation on board.

On the propulsion side, Aquila leaves the choice to the owner: options range from traditional diesel engines to the more sophisticated and quiet Hybrid Ocean Drive™, designed for those who prioritize acoustic comfort and energy efficiency.

Aquila 45 Sport: performance and lifestyle

While the Aquila 50 Sail looks to sailing tradition reinterpreted in a modern key, the 45 Sport embodies Aquila’s more dynamic spirit. It is the largest model in the Sport range and promises impressive figures: thanks to its double-stepped hull, it reaches top speeds of over 50 miles per hour, with efficient cruising between 38 and 40 miles per hour.

The design, inspired by the world of contemporary luxury SUVs, translates into taut lines and a strong sporty character. The heart of the boat is the aft cockpit, a true social space of about 19 feet, enhanced by fold-down terraces that bring the experience closer to the water. The pivoting bulwarks expand the on-water platform, while the U-shaped seating quickly converts into a large sunbed. An integrated swim ladder provides direct and natural access to the sea.

The galley area is designed for continuous entertaining, with the option to install a BBQ and TV, making the 45 Sport ideal for full days at anchor or in a sheltered bay. Below deck, the owner’s cabin features a king-size bed, private bathroom, and, on request, an advanced lithium battery system that allows the use of air conditioning even in complete autonomy.

A complete range, from cruising to sport fishing

Alongside the debuts of the Aquila 50 Sail and 45 Sport, the shipyard will showcase in Miami a representative selection of the entire range: from the 54, 50, and 46 Yacht models, designed for long-range cruising with “home-like” comfort, to the versatile 42 Coupe, which combines performance with seamless flow between interior and exterior spaces, also thanks to the Hydro Glide™ system.

Ample space is also given to the Molokai series, dedicated to sport fishing enthusiasts who do not want to give up comfort and stability: the 47 Molokai, with carbon fiber construction and high-performance outboard engines, and the more compact 36 Molokai, ideal for demanding fishing expeditions yet manageable even on a trailer.

The MIBS is an extremely important show for us, with two truly unique launches – said Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer of Aquila Catamarans and CEO of Aquila USA – Aquila’s DNA of innovation, solidity, and quality is clearly visible in both the Aquila 50 Sail and the 45 Sport. With eight models on display, we demonstrate the versatility of a range designed to meet the expectations of today’s boaters”.

With the double debut in Miami, Aquila is not merely expanding its catalog, but strengthening a vision that places versatility of use, innovative technology, and build quality at its core, confirming its position as one of the most interesting players in the modern catamaran landscape.
