The European power catamaran market continues to grow, and Aquila Power Catamarans is gearing up to further strengthen its presence at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 with a showcase that promises to be among the most interesting of the entire event. From September 8 to 13, the shipyard will bring three representative models of its lineup to the French Riviera—the 45 Sport, 50 Yacht, and 46 Yacht—along with the world premiere of a new model to be unveiled in the coming days. This announcement fuels the anticipation surrounding the Aquila display and confirms the brand’s strategy of constantly expanding its product offering, targeting a market segment where power catamarans are winning over more and more owners, including in the Mediterranean.
Aquila 45 Sport: A European Debut Focused on Performance
Under the spotlight will be the Aquila 45 Sport, making its official European debut after already drawing significant attention overseas. The design offers a modern take on the sport cruiser concept, combining high speeds, the signature stability of a twin hull, and an abundance of outdoor living space that is hard to match for a monohull in the same category.
One of the standout features is the fold-down bulwarks. Once opened, they expand the usable beam to nearly six meters, transforming the cockpit into a true terrace on the sea. The aft configuration, featuring twin 600-horsepower Mercury V12 outboards mounted on the sides, also leaves room for a central swim platform of a size normally reserved for inboard boats.
The exterior layout is designed to prioritize socializing, featuring convertible sunpads and dinettes, a fully equipped wet bar, and a carbon-fiber hardtop set up both for carrying sports gear and integrating solar panels.
The helm station accommodates four seats, three 16-inch multifunction displays, a Fusion Apollo audio system, and digital switching for the onboard systems. The cabin below deck, finished with modern furnishings and illuminated by a large skylight, allows for multi-day cruising without compromise. Performance is equally impressive: the maximum speed reaches 48 knots, while maintaining surprising maneuverability thanks to the joystick control.
The Aquila Power Catamarans Explorer Philosophy in Two Sizes
Alongside the sports model, the Aquila 50 Yacht and Aquila 46 Yacht will also be on display. Both embody the new Explorer line, developed to offer the volume, range, and comfort required for long-range cruising.
The Aquila 50 Yacht, measuring 15.9 meters in length, introduces a stylistic language characterized by high bulwarks and a signature Explorer profile. The standard three-cabin configuration includes a full-beam master suite on the main level. Large panoramic windows enhance the interiors, while the flybridge, designed as an authentic open-air living space, offers the option to install a second internal helm station. The CE Category A certification underscores its offshore capabilities, while numerous customization options allow owners to tailor the yacht to different cruising plans.
More compact but developed under the same design philosophy, the Aquila 46 Yacht mirrors the Explorer aesthetics of its larger sibling in a 14.36 meters format. A beam of over sette metri delivers particularly generous interior spaces, featuring an open-space salon illuminated by large glass surfaces, a full galley, and a seamless connection between inside and out thanks to the wide opening toward the cockpit. Available in three- to five-cabin configurations, the 46 Yacht is also CE Category A certified and can be equipped with the innovative Hydro Glide system, as well as an optional internal helm station.
A New Model to Surprise Cannes
While the lineup on display already provides a comprehensive look at Aquila’s evolution in the power catamaran segment, the true wildcard of the show will be the new model making its world premiere. For now, Aquila is keeping the boat’s specifications strictly under wraps. This choice suggests a desire to arrive in Cannes with a major innovation, destined to further enrich a lineup that has successfully anticipated the demands of a market increasingly focused on multihull platforms capable of blending performance, range, efficiency, and massive living volumes.
