CONTEST YACHTS LAUNCHES ITS NEW CONTEST 67CS WHILE DESIGNING THE FUTURE CONTEST 84CS

Contest Yachts is working very hard in this period. They have just launched the first Contest 67CS, which will officially presented at Cannes, and they are designing their future flagship Contest 84CS , which is expected to be launched in 2018.

Contest 67 CS
The first boat is ready, while the second one is almost on the finishing line. The project had been presented in 2014 and the last 12 months have been used for its realisation. A complex project, born from the collaboration with the German Judel/Vrolijk Stuidio.

67CS is a blue water cruiser (certified by Lloyds’) with a moderate displacement, conceived to be managed easily by a reduced crew in long cruises or coastal races. She is provided with a low glazed deckhouse and a large cockpit. It has a sloop rig with carbon option, a large versatile sail area and a carbon sprit for gennaker and flying code sails. The mainsail is furling on the boom or the mast. The forward sections are sharper and combined with slightly wider and flatter sections aft.

The interior plan is based around three double suites, with a fourth bunked cabin, in a variety of conformations and a choice of two galley arrangements, corridor or u-shaped. The kitchen can be linear or U-shaped.

 

 

 

Contest 84 CS

This is the first step of the yard into the fully crewed 80+ foot sector and it is made in design partnership with the celebrated German naval Judel/Vrolijk Studio, while classic-modern interiors are by Wetzels Brown Partners (Amsterdam). The layout is the same as Contest 67, so a boat conceived for both distance cruising and regatta participation.

Plomb bow, integral bowsprit, broad stern with twin rudders.

As regards interiors, there will have up to five guest cabins, a shipowner’s cabin and a fore or astern crew’s zone.
