Custom Boat and the new frontier of AI: “Experience the yacht before it’s built”

Using artificial intelligence to create an immersive virtual boat that clients can explore, allowing them to touch first-hand their custom project even before it is built. This is the extraordinary innovation introduced by Custom Boat, which recently launched an advanced AI system to offer its owners the possibility to experience and perceive their yacht in an immersive way even during the design phase.

“Custom Boat builds only fully bespoke vessels, so we have always needed to present ideas to our clients in the most effective way possible. With this tool, we offer the opportunity to emotionally step inside their boat before it is built – explains Mauro Corvisieri, CEO of Custom Boat – Thanks to artificial intelligence, we go beyond traditional renderings and instead create an ultra-detailed immersive virtual environment”. More specifically, this technology integrates tools such as Unreal Engine and Unity 3D for immersive environments; BIM modeling and augmented reality to configure every detail; touch tables and digital showrooms to share the project in real time from anywhere in the world. In this way, every owner can actively participate in the project, even remotely. And every choice is no longer imagined, but truly experienced.

The idea was developed in collaboration with the boatyard’s designers Paolo Tamburini and Gabriele Teruzzi. A concrete example is the immersive AI experience of the new C-Tender 60, designed in collaboration with Tamburini and available in fly or open versions: a new way to connect with one’s future yacht, seeing it, understanding it, and almost touching it. This is clearly shown in the following video.

This innovation represents the next step after what we launched last year with the new online nautical configurator, which allows customers to set up a boat exactly as they wish, from colors to upholstery and even textures – continues Corvisieri – All with the highest level of detail. However, that platform concerns the models of the C-Tender line which, although highly customizable, are still based on predefined hulls. The C-Boat line, instead, includes fully custom units over 25 meters, designed from scratch with the client, from stern to bow. In this context, the power of artificial intelligence makes all the difference”.

Thanks to this technology and to new-generation digital models, Custom Boat offers its clients an experience that goes beyond simple project visualization. AI makes it possible not only to explore one’s yacht virtually in every detail before it is built, but also to customize spaces, materials, and furnishings in real time with extremely realistic results, while experiencing an emotional and immersive environment in which every design choice takes shape right before their eyes. Ultimately, these are no longer simple technical drawings or static images: today, Custom Boat clients can walk through their future saloon, watch light move across surfaces, perceive real proportions, and discover every detail as if they were already on board.

We launched this tool just a few days ago and we’ve already received extremely positive feedback – concludes the CEO of Custom Boat – We are already working on the first two boats for two clients: the Isola 86 for a Mexican owner and the Domus 90 for a U.S. owner with specific space requirements. We gathered their preferences and created the immersive experience, and they were thrilled. We are learning day by day to use this tool with increasing precision, and we are ready to open new frontiers in the yachting world”.
