Fountaine Pajot heads for a zero-emission 2030

With the impetus from winning the ‘Best Motor Catamaran’ award for the MY4.S, Fountaine Pajot is entering the ecological transition with the “Odysséa 24” industrial plan, an ambitious project involving employees, yachting stakeholders and industry experts to take part in the development of a cleaner boating industry by making the French yard’s powerboats zero-emission by 2030.

Unveiled at the last International Multihull Boat Show, held last April in La Grande Motte, the “Odysséa 24” project aims to make the French group “a pioneer in the environmental transition of the maritime industry”. To achieve this, explains the Fountaine Pajot video previewed at La Grande Motte during a press conference, “the shipyard is counting on a collective awareness and energy driven by all its stakeholders: its owners, staff, suppliers and also experts in energy transition or research and development. Together, we will strive to create low-carbon and ideally zero-emission cruising boats by 2030‘.

Part of the “Odysséa 24” project is the ODsea Lab (from the acronym for Observe, Design & Save) innovation platform, a true collaborative platform that acts as an accelerator of technological solutions to transform production processes and the choice of materials, as well as to implement innovations in propulsion with renewable energy sources, electrical energy storage and the electrification of engines and life on board. The ODSea Lab innovation platform works around three main development axes: the boat of tomorrow, eco-yachting and industrialisation.

With the “Odysséa 24”, in short, Fountaine Pajot is projecting itself into the future and is doing so, as mentioned, in the wake of the success of the MY4.S (pictured), the new catamaran that won the ‘Best Motor Catamaran 2022’ award at the last International Multihull Boat Show. The latest addition to the Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts range received an absolute majority of the votes, winning over the public with its elegant, sophisticated lines and innovative sporty hard top, in a boat that breaks all the canons of motor catamarans for its spacious comfort that is around a third more than the average in the sector, offering undeniable advantages for long cruises with family or friends.

The MY4.S can be built to meet all requirements, with 3 and 4 double cabins in Quartet or Maestro versions. The owner’s suite occupies the entire length of the port hull and has huge windows at bed height, offering an unobstructed view of the sea and enhancing the feeling of volume, space and light.

In addition to the MY4.S, Fountaine Pajot also premiered the new Aura 51 catamaran at the Multihull Boat Show, which will see its official launch at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival.
