Honda BF300 V8: Honda Marine unveils its new outboard engine

The Honda BF300 V8 is an all-new outboard engine just unveiled by Honda Marine at Boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest indoor boat show.

A result of years of research and innovation in the marine sector, the BF300 features a 5-liter V8 engine with eight cylinders set at a 60° angle. This outboard is equipped with Honda’s VTEC technology, an electronic valve timing and lift control system that delivers robust and immediate acceleration while minimizing noise and vibrations, ensuring a highly comfortable boating experience.

“Honda BF300 V8 represents our commitment to delivering the best in innovation and reliability in the marine world – says Katsuhisa Okuda, Chief Officer and President of Honda Motor Europe – This powerful yet efficient engine guarantees excellent performance and technological advancements that enhance ease of use—not just for recreational boaters but for everyone”.

The new BF300 is equipped with the latest technologies developed by Honda Marine, including the BLASTT M(Boosted Low Speed Torque) system, which ensures robust and consistent torque even at low RPMs, and ECOmo technology, designed to optimize fuel efficiency during cruising. When additional power is needed, the VTECT M technology activates, delivering an extra boost through variable intake valve timing management. The Honda BF300 V8 embodies the pinnacle of Honda’s engineering, designed to provide customers with an unparalleled boating experience in any condition.

The Honda BF300 V8 is available in the classic Silver Aquamarine finish and the sporty Grand Prix White, both featuring striking designs enhanced by raised, three-dimensional chrome logos. The streamlined silhouette of this outboard engine has been meticulously crafted to minimize both aerodynamic and hydrodynamic drag, achieving the perfect balance between aesthetics and performance.

In line with Honda’s tradition, the BF300 is an engine that combines extraordinary performance with exceptional ease of use, offering features that maximize enjoyment during every outing at sea. The Cruise Control system ensures a relaxing cruising experience, while the Tilt Limit function protects the engine during docking maneuvers. Moreover, the Trim Support system automatically adjusts the engine’s tilt while cruising, ensuring optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and impeccable handling.

Managing these functions on the Honda BF300 V8 is intuitive and user-friendly, thanks to the new recessed electronic throttle control with the iST (Intelligent Shift and Throttle) system and a multifunction panel with five buttons, allowing for precise and immediate operation. This design enables boaters to focus more on the pleasure of navigating. The new 7-inch multifunction display, equipped with touch technology, further enhances usability and readability of engine information. Through the display, users can easily set and monitor key parameters such as Trim Support, Tilt Limit, and Cruise Control.

The new Honda BF300 V8 marks another step forward in the expansion of Honda’s high-power outboard range, providing boatyards and owners with an even broader selection to meet their needs.
