Karnic and Selva
Selva Group has just become exclusive Karnik importer in Italy. The Cypriot boats will took their place alongside the already rich Selva’s package offer of tenders, ribs and fiberglass boats.
Born in 1993, Karnik produces about 300 boats a year, with a product list including 8 lines (Smart, Open, Storm, SL, Bluewater, Cruiser) and 30 models. The production varies from small Smartone 48 ( with a 4.9-metre overall length) to 2965 Cruiser Line (10.30 m).
Karnik boats are pushed by both inboard motors (the official supplier is Volvo Penta but only for Bluewater and Cruiser lines) and outboards, which Selva will provide in 40 and 250 Hp versions soon.
The official presentation took place in Domaso, on Lake Como, yesterday. The boats available for sea trials were Smartone, Karnic 22SR, 2255, L2251, SL702 and 1851. Sea trials of each of them will be published in next weeks.
Karnik boats are high-quality but affordable boats. The establishment in Cyprus is very modern and suited to large productions. Hull design is particular, with a lateral corner which extends over the bow. The result is a great static and dynamic stability.
As regards prices, Smartone 4.8 costs 9.470 euros, VAT included; € 15.990 if equipped with Selva 40 Hp Dorado engine. Karnik 2225 (6.48 m) is a very interesting boat provided with a fore double cabin and a smart superstructure covering both dinette and pilot house. The boat costs 39,000 euros, VAT included, but price can rise up to 115.000 euros if you choose a Swordfish 115 SXR 115 HP engine or 59.000 in case of 225 Fin Whale motor.
