MARLIN 24 SR AWARDED AS THE BEST RIB OF THE YEAR BY “VELA E MOTORE” MAGAZINE

Many boatyards have chosen the Genoa International Boat Show to present their new creations. Among them, Marlin Boat was proud to launch a very innovative craft: the Marlin 24 SR, an inflatable boat with a length of 7.50 metres and attractive bow rider design.

The boat was positively welcomed by the press and awarded as the “2017 Boat of the Year” in the RIB category by the Italian “Vela & Motore” magazine.

Judges were particularly impressed by the sporty lines and particular shapes of the boat, all well-connected and consistent with excellent functionality both during navigation and at anchor. As a result, the model is highly livable and takes advantage of the bow rider architecture, a little unusual for a RIB.

When we approached to the model exhibited at Pavilion B in Genoa, we were immediately astonished by width: 3 metres for a RIB with a length of 7.55 metres are really many. The will to shape a new sailing concept is immediately recognizable.

Particular attention was paid to deck design and hull, now efficiently soft in any condition. The aim was in fact to enable a bow rider to plane quickly even at low speed.

Compared with the previous versions, tube profile was improved and provided with wider aft sections and greater stability.

The bow, too, was completely redesigned and equipped with comfortable settees which guarantee improved livability on board. You can almost see two cockpits, one in the bow and the other abaft, with a private swimming platform furnished with loungers. As a result, there’s plenty of space aboard, enhanced by a comfortable lateral passage in the stern and a central corridor that connects both convivial areas. It is no coincidence that the Marlin 24 SR can accommodate up to 14 passengers who can enjoy total comfort and relaxation.

All pillows are made of a particular material that guarantees total thermal insulation. Furthermore, the bow rider is equipped with a compression refrigerator and a synthetic chaise longue positioned close to the swimming platform.

The large bow assures excellent steerability and stability even in rough sea.

The Marlin can be fitted with two petrol 250 or 300hp inboard-outboard engines or diesel 260hp motors. According to the official data issued by the shipyard, the RIB can touch a top speed of about 40 knots.

The inflatable boat of the year therefore introduces an important style innovation and a new way of living the boat. Thanks to her reversible pilot seat, the Marlin 24 SR can also be used to enjoy waterskiing.  It could not be otherwise for a shipyard based on Lake Como, where waterskiing is much more than just a simple hobby.
