BOATANDBOATS AND NEW SARDINIASAIL AT “ROMA X TUTTI” REGATTA

Boatandboats and New Sardiniasail Association will join the “Roma x Tutti” race which will start from Riva di Traiano next April 9th.

Thus it is reinforced the collaboration between our magazine and the association, which provides social and emotional rehabilitation for young people in need.

And this is the salient feature of our participation to one among the most loved races in the Mediterranean: it will be, in fact, included in the “Route of Legality” project, promoted by Newsardiniasail and Boatandboats, dedicated to guys who experienced imprisonment and are currently living a rehabilitation also thanks to sailing.

On board the Azuree 40, a racing prototype built in 2009 and inspiration for the following namesake cruise model, there will be four guys involved into the “Route of Legality” project, together with Simone Cambi and Filippo Pintori, Managers of New Sardiniasail, Pierpaolo Ballerini, naval architect and adviser in technology and management for different shipyards, Luca D’Ambrosio and Nico Caponetto, Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Boatandboats.com respectively.

The participation to this demanding race is not something you can just jump into it. The crew is made up of experienced sailors and four guys who have been following the sailing activities proposed by the association for a long time. We’re talking about an essential exciting step of the “Route of Legality” project, where Boatandboats offers its own skills to achieve specific courses about professional informatics, web design, Sem and Seo techniques and journalism, flanked by the professional training activities of the association about shipbuilding industry and sailmaking.

The aim is to create some job opportunities for young people who are closing a troubled period of their life and entering a new future.

The participation to “RomaXtutti” is a natural development of the marine activities of our guys who have already joined the “Mille Vele per Garibaldi” race last year.

“Sailing as therapy – explains the President of New Sardiniasail – has already proved its efficiency in physical, psychological and social rehabilitation processes. We measure its efficiency every time we go out on the boat, when what is rebuilt is a small society where people live all the typical daily relationships but in an amplified dimension and where self-commitment, the responsibility towards the others and the sense of cooperation show strongly”.

The Azuree 40 is reaching Italy from Turkey, where she came back to the yard. Then, the crew will start training while the boat will be prepared. The boat is a very technical racing prototype: entirely made of carbon and equipped with two canards and a canting keel, she will test the crew’s skills and will represent another challenge our guys will seize and win regardless of the ranking.
