Nimbus Group keeps on growing and starts local production of its boats in North America

The end of this 2023 marks another strategic choice for the Nimbus Group, which will start local production of the Nimbus boats in North America in February next year.

The first models of the Nimbus T8 will be produced in EdgeWater Power Boats’ existing production facility in Edgewater, Florida, which was included in the acquisition of EdgeWater earlier this year.

Since the acquisition, the facility has been significantly updated to cope with increased production and coincide with the 2025 model year product planning.

Starting local US production of Nimbus brand boats is a natural next step in our increasing investment in the important North American market” says Jan-Erik Lindström, CEO of Nimbus Group. In fact, the North American powerboat market is the largest in the world and accounts for about half of the global market.

This, combined with the strong spirit of enterprise and expansion that the Nimbus Group has always shown, and in which it has been investing in recent years, focuses attention on the brand’s growth strategy, which includes the marketing and production of high-end powerboats in the North American market.

The importance of this new expansion is clearly confirmed by figures: the Nimbus Group recorded an organic increase in premium boat sales of 19% in the third quarter of 2023, while the order book in North America rose to SEK 550 million, or 58% of the total order book, constituting a new record on the star-studded continent.

Contributing to this was the presence at the last Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, just over a month ago, where the Swedish shipyard presented a preview for the American market of the Nimbus W11, the weekender that has already been widely appreciated around the world, hitting the mark with the desires of American owners looking for large spaces, comfort, and of course, speed.

The Nimbus Group consists of several brands: Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts. Then, in 2023, with a view to expanding its market, the Nimbus Group acquired the high-end powerboat brand EdgeWater Power Boats, kicking off a series of investments that are leading the Group to an increasing presence in the American premium powerboat scene, now also with a dedicated production facility in Florida.
