Ocean Alexander 35R: “Best in Show” becomes “Best of the Sea”

Ocean Alexander might have been lacking long-range motoryachts to fill its slips at the 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS), but the leading Taiwanese manufacturer is certainly not slacking in sales. Not only is it sold out of current inventory, business is so booming, it bumped Feadship down to fourth place on the 2021 Global Order Book (GOB).

Of the impressive fleet including three brand new models ranging from 30- 37 meters – the 35R is the one to watch! The renowned crown jewel of the Revolution series, designed by Evan K Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects, took the 62nd Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) by storm, motoring away with the coveted Best in Show triumph from NBC Sports. The win was only the beginning! Judging from her overnight success and staggering sales record, the Ocean Alexander 35R has gone from “Best in Show” to “Best of the Sea.”

Discussing Ocean Alexander’s prosperous future at the PBIBS, Sally Doleski, vice president of marketing, explains – Following the world premiere, we sold the next two incoming hulls to US buyers at the FLIBS, and No. 3 is set to deliver to Europe late this summer in time for Cannes. What’s more, the fourth and fifth hulls are also under contact.

Although the outer quay was OA-less, once you step on board the new 35R, the exquisite physical beauty and boldness in design take your breath away. To start, she impresses with luxurious living spaces of prolific proportions comfortably carrying a party of ten. The crew of five also has private passages and discreet stateroom entrances to bypass passenger areas when moving about.

On the aft deck, tradition went out the door by reversing the U-shaped seating arrangement to face the back of the boat. This distinct shift gives guests the ability to observe down below and monitor activities of any young ones in the sea. Then, when outdoor playtime ends and mealtime begins, the press of a button actuates the opening of a stainless-steel framed sliding glass door to enter the salon. And voilà, eyes are instantaneously met with an engineering wonder… floor-to-ceiling windows and a near 360-degree visual.

If you want to be even more floored, first, walk along the marble walkway on the main deck to the forward master and admire the king-size berth, then head to the master head to marvel in his and her sinks and separate enclosed water closets joined by a center tub and enclosed shower.

Saving “Best for Last,” the 116-foot engineering masterpiece had me at aft beach club. From top to bottom, the cabana gives new meaning to entertaining at sea level. Most impressive from above is the overhead tinted glass window great for day gazing up to the aft deck; and from below, what turns heads is the sauna, workout room and private day head accessed directly from the fold-down swim platform or conversely via a portside staircase.

Ocean Alexander named the series Revolution for a reason – the 35R tells the story why!
