Ocean Alexander delivers a new 27R in Miami: a story of passion and family continuity

Ocean Alexander has delivered a new 27R to a family of owners in Miami, marking their first experience with the brand but continuing a long-standing passion for boating. The purchase was handled by Gus Serrano, Yacht & Brokerage Sales Executive at MarineMax Miami, who is also celebrating his first official delivery of a new Ocean Alexander after twenty years with the group.

A relationship built over time

The relationship between Serrano and the new owners began in 2018, when the family first approached MarineMax to buy a small 19-foot Sea Ray. Since then, step by step, their experience at sea has evolved along with the size of the boats they’ve owned. The boat became a meeting place, a way to spend quality time with children and grandchildren, even during challenging times. “From day one, they told me they were looking for a boat that could bring the family together – says Serrano – Over the years, they looked at many options, but the 27R kept standing out. They were drawn to its interior volume, bold looks, and the warm, welcoming feeling you get as soon as you step aboard. As the owner likes to say: ‘Life smiles at us—and when it doesn’t, we smile back when we’re on an Ocean Alexander”.

Ocean Alexander 27R: generous spaces and contemporary style

At about 27 meters in length, the Ocean Alexander 27R combines modern lines with bright, open spaces typical of the Revolution series. The yacht offers large, functional living areas designed for extended stays on board, with special attention to family comfort. “The 27R delivers the presence, the space, and the refinement that families like this value – said Dan Mundy, Head of Global Operations, Ocean Alexander – We are grateful to Gus and the MarineMax team for a patient, client first process that ended with exactly the right yacht”.

A delivery coordinated among professionals

The delivery was managed in collaboration with the MarineMax Yacht division in Pompano Beach and the Ocean Alexander Service & Commissioning team at East Coast Yacht Group in Fort Lauderdale. This joint effort ensured a smooth ownership transfer and top-level after-delivery care.

“After twenty years in this business, families like this remind me why I love what I do – Serrano concludes – Seeing them grow, adapt, and continue sharing their passion for the sea makes every effort worthwhile”.

On board the Ocean Alexander 27R: design, comfort, and craftsmanship in perfect balance

The Ocean Alexander 27R stems from the collaboration between Evan K. Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects, combining design, engineering, and craftsmanship in a balance that redefines the concept of a luxury yacht. Every detail is crafted to offer a contemporary onboard experience where functionality and style coexist naturally. The vertical bow – a signature feature of the Revolution line – significantly expands the interior volume without compromising performance, while the sharp lines and powerful profile give the yacht a distinctive presence both in port and at sea.

On the main deck, the aft deck stands out as a versatile area, perfect both for entertaining guests and for quiet relaxation. Equipped with a full wet bar and a 316 stainless steel electric barbecue, the outdoor space easily transforms from a social hub into an open-air retreat—perfect for enjoying the sea at any time of day.

The salon and dining area are designed to maximize the sense of space and light. Access is through a silent automatic door that, once opened, reveals a seamless view all the way to the galley. Expansive full-height windows offer cinematic views of the horizon, while light oak furniture and exotic wood accents create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. A large retractable TV screen and a bar island complete the space, adding both functionality and comfort.

The owner’s suite reflects the meticulous attention to detail typical of the shipyard. Custom-made furnishings, twin nightstands, and ample storage compartments optimize the space, while the king-size bed with an upholstered headboard serves as the centerpiece of a setting designed for rest and privacy. Cedar-lined walk-in closets provide generous storage and organization, and the large windows flood the cabin with natural light while maintaining privacy through motorized shades. Beside the windows, a comfortable sofa invites you to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink with a sea view.

I was born in Liguria, a stone's throw from the sea, with which I have a special and unbreakable relationship. Since middle school I had clear ideas: I wanted to be a journalist. I like to inform myself, understand what is going on around me and build my own opinion. After a few years in Milan, between study and work, during which I gained work and life experiences, the call of the sea became too strong and I moved back to my home.
