What does distinguish the new Oceanis 41.1 from its predecessor Oceanis 40? We will be able to tell it in some weeks when we will see it at the Nautical Exhibition of Paris, where Bénéteau will offer its worldwide preview.
For the moment, the French shipbuilder only says that the new model would guarantee higher performances and speed.
The mast has been in fact moved back and the sailing area is bigger than in the previous model. Maybe the designers of Finot-Conq Architectes Studio have introduced some new elements also in waterlines in order to redefine the balance modified by the new sailing area. If we consider also the presence of the Pack Performances, with carbon sail elements, the possibility for the shipowner to move the bow from summer holidays to winter regattas becomes concrete.
Finally, the new model is probably destined to revitalise the range in terms of trade and marketing results. Oceanis 41.1 replaces Oceanis 40 by joining the biggest models, Oceanis 45 and 48.
Design is not particularly innovative and it uses the same elements launched 4 years ago: rollbar, corner hull, astern mirror converting in something more than a simple pilot house, that is a real surface where the captain can enjoy a full contact with the sea.
Interiors follows the same minimalist design than the previous models, except for the possibility to choose woods, from mahogany to oak tree and layouts.
There is a version with two cabins and two bathrooms (a fore private bathroom and a big astern one), and another one with three cabins ( with two astern cabins)
