Privilège Euphorie 5: a super penthouse on the sea

World premiere at Cannes Yachting Festival for the new Privilège Euphorie 5. It’s a motor-powered multihull based on the hull of the Privilège 5 designed by Marc Lombard.

Spaces are therefore as wide as those of the sailing model: instead, they are even wider thanks to the presence of a large fly bridge and a completely unencumbered bow. Compared with the sailing counterpart, handling is even better.

Fitted with twin 220hp engines, the Privilege Euphorie 5 is displacing, stable and sturdy and can reach a cruising speed of 12 knots for a maximum range of almost 1,000 miles.

Those who have tested her confirm her exceptional fuel efficiency and silence, guaranteed by sturdy soundproof bulkheads that isolate cabins from the engine compartment.

Floating mansions

In Cannes, these twin boats were exhibited one next to another. Apparently similar, they were actually different: one version featured a mast, a boom and a forestay while the other had a huge terrace.

Noteworthy was the great interest shown by the Italian clientele, who got the French Riviera to see these exclusive boats.

This choice, too, fully reflects Privilège’s philosophy: these boats are, indeed, destined for private use and not for tourism.

Only a few customers have used bigger models for high-level charter activities.

All Privilège boats are designed for all those who want to enjoy really comfortable cruises or want to travel a lot and in total comfort, bringing their home with them.

The structure and the remarkable attention to details make these boats sturdy and silent, without the annoying twisting and creaking that catamarans of lower quality produce on the ocean waves and in the rough sea.

A penthouse terrace for the Privilege Euphorie 5

Compared with the Privilège 5, the motor-powered version offers an additional deck: we can call them “penthouse” and “super penthouse“.

The pilot station is, indeed, raised and protected in the sailing version but still positioned on the side of the cockpit while the Euphorie 5 features a fly bridge that, entirely usable and sheltered, is also equipped with two wide sun pads.

Convivial spaces therefore multiply in the astern dinette, the forward terrace and in this huge fly bridge that is accessible from the astern high-tech ladder or from the bow.

If we wanted to find one possible flaw in the Euphorie, we could identify it in the forward asymmetric ladder that leads from the fly bridge to the forward sun pad. If you are not young anymore or your sight is not good or the boat is not immobile, the four tiny steps of this ladder can turn into a really terrible balancing act.

And inside, a luxury resort

With a width of almost 8 meters, the boat houses a wide cockpit in the bow and a salon with a large galley inside.

The interior salon includes, on the port side, a fully-equipped galley with dishwasher and an ice maker with a 5 kg basket along with a large chart table equipped with a touchscreen display positioned just opposite the galley.

Both the Privilège 5 and the Euphorie are offered in versions with three or four cabins.

Both versions are wide, comfortable and stylish.

Cabins can be furnished with one single queen-size bed or twin beds, each with en-suite bathroom and shower compartment.

However, the three-cabin version, equipped with a real large and bright master suite in the bow, is really amazing.

Under the forward terrace, in fact, opens a real bedroom with a king-size bed, a desk, a vanity table with pop-up mirror and 11 skylights that flood the room with a great amount of natural light.

Some news about the Privilège 510 Signature

What about the future? Filippo Matronola of Nautigamma, the Italian importer, discloses that the Privilège 5 will become Privilège 510 Signature: the dinette will be 10 cm higher, windows will be vertical and with no studs in order to give even more space.

The glass window is already visible in the Privilège 580, the new model for which three units have already been sold and scheduled to be delivered in 2020 in different countries, which suggests how the name of this prestigious shipyard knows no bounds.

The forward glass window opens up on an outdoor dinette that, though a staircase, gives instant access to the master cabin.

A real floating mansion.
