Ranieri International Next 240 SH, the little of the line that thinks big

The official launch was at the Salon Nautique International de Paris last December 2, well-anticipated by the great success of ther predecessor, the Next 290 SH presented at the last Cannes Yachting Festival.

We’re talking about the new Ranieri International Next 240 SH, the little new entry of the line which replicates and reintepretes the stylist features of her siblings: the 290 and the 370 SH, presented in Dusseldorf last year and tested by the staff of Boatandboats.com during the last Genoa International Boat Show.

And it’s exactly in this capacity to reproduce the winning features of the 370 on a smaller scale that lies the main strength of the new Next 240 SH.

” Our goal – Salvatore Ranieri told us – was to build a smaller copy of the 370 and the 290. I believe that we’ve succeeded in doing that, developing solutions which have resulted into spaces which, in their turn, are significantly larger than those of other boats of this size. Every single idea, including the popup seats, the folding sofa in the stern and the spacious cockpit which can accommodate up to 7 guests around a table, were developed in-house by our technical office”.

So, a highly ambitious project, probably resulted from an attentive market analysis. The challenge, in fact, seems to be allowing many boaters to approach the Next line with a more affordable budget. Not only for the lower cost of the boat, but also because the less powerful engine of the Ranieri Next 240 SH means good savings on that front.

The exterior layout astonishes for the fine arrangement of the cockpit. The aft section includes a sofa located next to the transom along with two popup lateral seats which, disappearing into the bulwarks, make the passage leading to the cockpit completely unencumbered. Viceversa, the two lateral seats can be easily extracted to create, together with the single ones of the pilot station, a large lunch zone. The result is a real lounge furnished with a table which can seat 7 people in total comfort.

Furthermore, the folding aft sofa can easily stretch and become an additional sun pad.

The boat is also offered in a version with open, unencumbered cockpit, particularly appropriate for fishing enthusiasts.

The steering console is centrally located, with the pilot seat and the dashboard located on the starboard side and a door leading to interiors on the right. All equipment is protected by a windscreen topped by a steel handrail which enables passengers to move free and safely from the cockpit to the bow.

Interiors, too, make a little record. According to the shipyard, in fact, the Next 240 SH is the first boat under 8 meters with three berths located in two separate spaces.  Interiors, in fact, include a large double bed in the bow – which can become an indoor dinette with two opposing sofas – and a third single bed on the side. Hidden inside a locker, there is a marine manual or electric wc. Instead of the third bed, a toilet with wc and washbasin can be installed on the starboard side.

Fitted with one or two motors, the boat can have a maximum power of 300 hp.
