SANLORENZO, A SPECTACULAR MOVE

Leggi l’articolo in italiano

A short but spectacular travel. Here you are the particular pictures showing the recent agreement between Sanlorenzo and San Marco Yachting in La Spezia: the metal superyachts production has in fact been moved from the historical seat of Viareggio.

During the night, the first two models of the new 52 Steel line – two 52-metre-long steel superyachts – travelled on a barge from the harbour of Viareggio to La Spezia. By April, also the third and fourth Explorer unit (42 metres) will get the new Sanlorenzo’s  establishments.

The new production area of La Spezia is a large well-equipped site which allow to plan and build metal boats, from 40 to 80 metres of length, with a direct access to the sea. This will offer to Sanlorenzo the possibility to develop its own Superyacht department specialized in big metal boats. At La Spezia, Sanlorenzo wants to open a refitting area for big boats, too.

Sanlorenzo (the second shipbuilder in the world in the production of over-24-metre-long yachts) has three production sites: the shipyard of Ameglia will remain the headquarter seat and it will continue to be dedicated to the construction of medium fiberglass boats (from 78 to 106 feet); the seat of Viareggio will produce big fiberglass boats (from 112 to 126 feet), by taking advantage of the space freed by Superyacht department; the establishment of La Spezia will produce bigger metal boats that, considering their size, are real ships.
