SEA TRIAL. ELEMENT XL. CHEAP AND FUNNY?

60 cm longer than the previous Element boat, the XL model is a small and interesting project conceived for inland waters and water sports. The basic aspect is the same of the star-spangled bow rider (so with a second small cockpit on the bow which can be converted into a sunbathing place) and the most interesting aspect of Element Xl is the partition of its inner spaces into three different functional areas, with 8 seats, which is not bad for a 5,5 metre-boat. The floor area is 355  cm long and  54 cm wide.

Another feature is the tested and experienced M-shaped hull: it has a central V and two high steps on its sides (a sort of submerged spoilers) and it assures a good stability, especially during navigation. The purpose is a boat simple to skipper, with no pitching or listing.

Something against nature? Isn’t a no listing boat a boat? Actually, the hull design is conceived in terms of safety and easy handling. This is why, in case of excessive steerages even if the trim is all down, the engine loses some revolutions and propeller starts to cavitate.

The result is a boat simple to use, with a very competitive price and simple systems and trimmings. We have done a sea trial in hard weather conditions. Not its natural habitat but, in the outer harbour, with flat water conditions, we have had the opportunity to appreciated its hull: the facility to skipper it, its good speed and its self-control in the steerages. Thanks to our Mercury 115 engine (produced by Brunswick) we have reached 35 knots ( and weather was not good) in a very simple way.

The boat is ideal for lakes, water sports and for those who don’t want spend too much money.
