5 years later, here he is on a trimaran again. Giovanni Soldini has officilised his new challenge. With him, as loyal adventure companions and sponsors, Maserati and John Elkann and an almost new boat. After 5 years spent on Maserati 70mod, the sailor from Milan returns to sails on a multihull like in the times of Fila (2001, later become TIM): it’s the old Gitana XV (2011) owned by the Baron Benjamin de Rothschild. The boat will take the name of Maserati Multi70.

The trimaran has been subjected to countless updates for the will of its rich passionate owner, who finally made it flying with the addition of some foils.

The aim was to create a multihull able to develop high speeds ( it sails at 43 knots when wind blows at 20) but with the same reliability and solidity than an oceanic hull.

So, Soldini recovers an old but always actual fast wonderful boat. The idea is maybe to continue what he has done in the last few years: hunting for some new distance records in both the Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
