The Superyacht Cup Palma turns 30 and opens to multihulls

A historic milestone for the oldest superyacht regatta in Europe. The Superyacht Cup Palma is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a major new development: the appointment of Richard Mille as title sponsor for the next three years. A long-term partnership that brings together two international players united by clear values—engineering excellence, strategic vision, forward thinking, and a strong focus on performance—and one that promises to further enhance the prestige of one of the most anticipated events in the Mediterranean sailing season.

“To now welcome a long-term title partner of Richard Mille’s calibre is tremendously exciting – a press note from organizers says – Their commitment to precision, performance and innovation aligns perfectly with our own values, and this three-year partnership gives us real confidence as we look ahead to the next chapter of the regatta”.

The edition scheduled from June 24 to 27, 2026 will therefore celebrate not only three decades of top-level competition but also the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for the event, which this year returns to its historic home at the Marina of the Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca. This choice further strengthens the position of the city of Palma—and more broadly the Mediterranean—as the epicenter of the global superyacht community, fully reflecting the forward-looking vision shared by the regatta and its new title partner.

Established in 1996, the Superyacht Cup Palma has built its reputation on a format entirely focused on owners and on top-tier sporting management, once again entrusted this year to the Real Club Nautico de Palma (RCNP).

Superyacht Cup Palma: the new class dedicated to superhulls

The event is once again set to attract a large number of owners, crews, and enthusiasts in a setting that has always been a benchmark for international sailing.

Among the most interesting new features of this edition is the introduction of the new Multihull Division, which officially acknowledges the leading role of high-performance multihulls.

In recent years, large catamarans and trimarans have demonstrated technical capabilities and performance levels that have earned them an increasingly important place even in the most prestigious sailing competitions. The new class therefore represents a significant step in the evolution of the regatta, which continues to move forward while remaining true to its tradition.

The first expressions of interest for this year’s edition already point to a top-level fleet combining new entries and high-profile returns. Among the most anticipated debuts are the Wally 100 Inco and the 28-meter Swan Spiip, while regular contenders are expected to include yachts such as Win Win and the legendary J Class yachts Rainbow and Svea.

The new Division joins the other four competing categories—Superyacht, J Class, Café Racer and Corinthian—and is already attracting an impressive number of potential participants, setting the stage for a regatta destined to make history while charting an ambitious course for the future.
