THE LATEST CREATIONS BY JEANNEAU

Cannes – Jeanneau’s press meeting has ended today with the presentation of the latest sailing and motor models. A very interesting appointment, where European journalists has had the opportunity to test (even in very hard conditions, with a wind up 35/40 knots) the new creations by the French shipbuilder.

Motorboats have been more successful and, among all the models, we want to recommend the new Cap – Camarat 10.50 WA (we’ll tell you our sea trial soon, we promise, but we can disclose that we reached 48 knots with two Yamaha 350 HP engines), a boat which will certainly have a great appeal on the market.

Another interesting news is Leader 46,

proposed in a version with IPS and another one with the traditional EFB and the interesting possibility of three different layouts for the external dinette. The new version of Cap-Camarat 7.5 WA, called Merry Fisher 795 is coming, too. It replaces Merry Fisher 755. Among big boats, the new entry is represented by Prestige 680. We also remember that Bénéteau- Jeanneau  has bought Glastron and Scarab, two historical American brands. Consequently, the French shipbuilder will have a larger supply including the American fisherman, bow-rider and open boats.

As regards sailing, Sun Odyssey range has been interested by a light restyling work on almost all its boats, starting from a new faster bowsprit. At Cannes, we saw the new 419 and 519 models – of which we’ll publish the sea trials in the following weeks – which respectively replace 409 and 509, even if some changes involve 349,389,449 and 479, too. Some models have even new fabrics and an innovative fore pilot house design.

We tested Jeanneau 54, too, and we’ll tell you our experience as soon as possible. Jeanneau 57, on the contrary, has new interiors, while a new sailing range is expected to be launched by next summer. No revelation yet. but everything lets us imagine a borderliner-boats range combining elements from motor and sailing world.

Finally, from this year on, Sun Fast 3200 will have a new cockpit layout, while Sun Fast 3600 will be provided with a lead keel with no wings.
