Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation, raises the bar and is preparing to redefine the future of yachting with a new generation of digital and control solutions designed to make navigation more intuitive, high-performing and connected. These are not standalone updates, but an integrated ecosystem that brings together hardware, software and connectivity within a single, seamless and coherent architecture.
In the spotlight at the Miami International Boat Show, Mercury unveiled the Mercury Keyless and Boost systems, the new Premier Joystick and the DTS Performance foot throttle designed for high-performance applications. Four innovations that communicate with each other and further strengthen the brand’s leadership in integrated propulsion systems.
“With the launch of all these innovations, Mercury is sending a clear message: the future of boating is smarter, more connected and more intuitive – said John Buelow, President of Mercury Marine – Each solution addresses a fundamental consumer need: control, performance, ease of use and customization, working in synergy to create a more cohesive and higher-quality experience on the water”.
Now let’s take a closer look at the new solutions introduced by Mercury.
Mercury Boost: performance, digitally unlocked
With Boost, Mercury introduces a software-based engine calibration that promises an increase in mid-range acceleration and 0–top speed performance ranging from 5% to 21%—one of the most appreciated parameters among boaters, especially on sport-oriented boats or those carrying heavier loads. Available as an upgrade installed by an authorized Mercury outboard dealer, Boost delivers greater responsiveness without any additional hardware modifications, allowing owners to further enhance performance through reliable, manufacturer-approved software. Boost will also be installed on selected Mercury outboard engines produced throughout the year, marking a decisive step toward an increasingly digital product platform ready to accommodate future software upgrades.
Mercury Keyless: a new standard in smart boating
The new Mercury Keyless system allows users to unlock, start and secure their boat directly from a smartphone, bringing an automotive-inspired experience to the marine world. Compatible with Mercury engines from 80 hp and above, with both mechanical controls and DTS, including single-engine configurations, the system supports installations of up to six engines. Integration with SmartCraft Connect consolidates security, connectivity and system management within a single ecosystem, streamlining even complex multi-engine setups. The result is centralized and intuitive control: fewer keys, fewer steps, more automation and enhanced protection, with digital interaction becoming an integral part of the onboard experience.
Joystick Premier: improved control, expanded capability
When it comes to maneuvering, Mercury evolves its joystick system with the new Joystick Premier and an updated MFD interface designed to deliver a more intuitive helm experience.
New features include Dockhook, which helps maintain position more easily alongside the dock, as well as Skyhook Reposition and Skyhook remote steering control. This introduction extends joystick-assisted maneuvering and piloting to outboards equipped with twin bow thrusters, ensuring greater precision and lateral control during low-speed maneuvers. Also noteworthy is the expanded access to features such as Skyhook, Heading Hold and Position Hold for boaters without a joystick system—a democratization of control technologies that boosts confidence at the helm and reduces stress in tight spaces, especially in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
DTS Performance Foot Throttle: precision control at high speed

Compatible with both current and previous DTS systems, the pedal features a brand-new compact throttle input sensor with improved sensitivity, a high-quality anodized aluminum profile, a non-slip marine-grade EVA pad and an integrated hook for added safety, ensuring precise throttle control in high-performance environments.
With this suite, Mercury is not simply introducing new products but outlining a clear trajectory: the future of boating runs through software, connectivity and full system integration. And today more than ever, the helm is digital.
