NEW FORMENTI ZAR 85 SL AT GENOA BOAT SHOW

After the presentation at Cannes Yachting Festival, new Zar 85 SL arrives at Genoa Boat Show. This rib is the flagship of Sport Luxury range and, in Genoa, it shows off both on water – in a grey version – and in Formenti’s stand in an aggressive black version.

“For new Zar 85 SL we used the same bottom than Zar 87 – explains Piero Formenti – but reinterpreted in a more aggressive form”. Unique the advanced bow, designed to deflect water and keep the boat dry.

The bottom is V-shaped, the stern advanced and there are also two lateral sustaining tunnels which help the rib to raise on water while speed increases.

The deck has been used to the last centimetre in order to guarantee the greatest comfort. With the other Zar models, 85 SL shares the typical large astern zone, while the dinette is endless and versatile: once lowered, the table converts into a 2 x 1.35 m sunbathing platform. On the bow, as American fashion imposes, there’s a second dinette with horseshoe-shaped sofas and room for an additional table. Moreover, the rib is equipped with two fore chaises-longues: seats in front of console have, in fact, a convertible back.

The console is very compact and it hides a cabin with a 2×1.50 m berth with services.

In terms of motors, the rib can be pushed by a 300 HP motor to reach 40 knots or 2x 250 HP motors for a top speed of 50 knots.

Piero Formenti is optimistic ” recovery in boating is evident and we start to notice it. Finally, Italians return to be interested and buy”.

Zar Formenti takes part to Genoa Boat Show with 20 ribs, such as 10 models belonging to new Zar Mini line, a range which includes 40 tenders. These ribs are foldable, small and easy to disassembly. In particular, Zar Mini Air ribs have an inflatable bottom, Fun ribs have a soft bottom reinforced with some sticks, while Alu and Rib models have aluminium bottoms.
