FOUR WINNS has revolutionized the concept of the catamaran with a 36-foot model that introduces innovative solutions designed to offer owners a truly unique cruising experience. The urge to step aboard is strong, and even when docked, the compact profile and design of this FOUR WINNS TH36 give it the look of a sporty boat, despite its impressive beam of 4.47 meters.
Boarding from the stern, the central platform provides easy access and leaves enough room for a wide passageway. The two outboard engines are positioned on the sides of the hulls, making both harbor maneuvers and navigation easier. This model is powered by two 350 hp MERCURY engines.
One of the most interesting features on board is the large L-shaped sofas at the rear, which can be used in both closed and open configurations, thanks to hidden tracks in the floor. This allows the layout to be adjusted to suit your needs and keeps the central passageway clear when moored or at anchor, making it easier to move around.
The central passageway, combined with a generous beam, offers plenty of space to enjoy the boat in different ways: you can choose the rear sofas, the central seating area sheltered by the large aerodynamic T-TOP, or the bow, where you’ll find spacious sofas and chaise longues. In short, this 11.7-meter boat really has a lot to offer.
The helm console has been designed to provide excellent protection and outstanding visibility, thanks to the large windshield that spans the entire beam. In the center of the FOUR WINNS TH36, there’s an opening that allows access to the bow, which can be closed off to provide shelter on cooler days. At the bow, the cushions stretch along both sides of the catamaran, offering additional space to relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a cocktail in total comfort.
Four Winns TH36 – Interiors
The TH36 is a compact catamaran that delivers impressive stability thanks to its twin hulls, while offering a living area comparable to that of a much larger yacht. Wide openings on the sides of the cockpit provide access to the twin cabins.
At the stern, there are the double cabins, each offering generous space. Meanwhile, at the bow of this FOUR WINNS TH36 are the bathrooms, each equipped with a separate shower. Thanks to the generous headroom and large side windows that let in plenty of natural light, the cabins offer excellent comfort.
Four Winns TH36 Sea Trial
We finally leave the port of Cannes as the sun begins to set, and even during the initial maneuvers I can already appreciate the remarkable handling of this catamaran. The two engines positioned at the extremities make it easy to control the helm, allowing for excellent rotational movement by contrasting the two propellers.
This feature makes docking and departure maneuvers significantly easier, enabling precise control of every movement.
As soon as I climb on board, I immediately appreciate the exceptional visibility offered by the FOUR WINNS TH36, thanks to the windshield that wraps around the entire helm area. I feel well protected from the cold and the humidity starting to set in.
There are seven of us on board, and I decide to head toward Théoule-sur-Mer. As I accelerate, at 1,000 rpm we reach a speed of 4.5 knots, with fuel consumption at around 6.5 l/h per engine. The two Mercury 350 V10 engines power the FOUR WINNS TH36 smoothly and evenly, with no jerks and very fluid acceleration.
Without hesitation, I quickly increase the throttle to see how far I can push it, taking into account the head sea with waves of about half a meter. Within seconds we hit 21.5 knots, with the tachometer reading 4,550 rpm and fuel consumption at 81 L/h per engine. In these sea conditions, I don’t feel comfortable pushing it further, but it’s likely the top speed could exceed 30 knots. I ease off to 12 knots to enjoy the view of the red sky unfolding to starboard.
The evening is fantastic, so I decide to slow down even more, soaking in this beautiful summer sunset: at 2,000 rpm, the FOUR WINNS TH36 glides along at 8 knots, with fuel consumption dropping to 17 L/h per engine. The desire to stay out at sea grows stronger—it almost feels like a casual outing with friends. Someone’s joking around at the bow, while others chat about summer at the stern, and the relaxed atmosphere makes me momentarily forget that I’m actually testing this compact and innovative catamaran.
Just for fun, I throw in a few gentle turns to cross my own wake, pushing up to 3,000 rpm and reaching a speed of 10 knots. The people on board don’t even notice the change and keep chatting as if nothing had happened. I head back to port fully satisfied, having truly enjoyed every aspect of this FOUR WINNS TH36.
