Second win in a row for Grand Soleil 44 Essentia at ORC Worlds 2022

Grand Soleil 44 Essentia has won the ORC 2022 World Championship for the second time in a row. The boat from the Cantiere del Pardo brand entered and won the competition in the B class, routing the competitors and crossing the finish line first following a magnificent race, having already recorded the same performance last year. Leading the Grand Soleil 44 Essentia to the ORC Worlds 2022 was owner Catalin Trandafir together with his excellent crew.

This year’s ORC World Championship was held in the beautiful waters of Porto Cervo in Sardinia, with the boats being hosted by the renowned Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

The record of having won this prestigious competition by standing on the podium for two consecutive years confirms the great success of this boat.

The Grand Soleil 44 Essentia in detail

The Grand Soleil 44 Essentia is part of the Race family of the Grand Soleil fleet, the most aggressive line of the Cantiere del Pardo brand. The Race line is in fact characterized by sporty water lines and hard deck equipment, and is aimed in particular at racers and owners with a passion for speed. This model, however, is double-minded: the Cantiere del Pardo also offers the same hull in the Performance line, with a more cruising character that makes it perfect for fast cruising owners who want to tackle long voyages with a more comfortable trim, but without sacrificing performance when underway.

Designed by Matteo Polli, a designer known for his high-performance hull lines, the Grand Soleil 44 Essentia has a very balanced size-performance ratio. When manoeuvring at sea, the owner and his guests can enjoy all the space they need for life on board, with comfortable interiors and an extraordinarily visible deck, without sacrificing the performance of this boat that has just confirmed itself as one of the queens of the seas.

As for the interior, lit by large windows, the boat can accommodate up to eight people and offers three cabins, two heads (both with separate shower cubicles), an L-shaped galley, a dinette with a comfortable U-shaped sofa and a table in the centre. The Performance version is distinguished by the presence of high lockers, which are not present in the Race version, which features a lighter layout.
