Monfalcone shipyard becomes Groupe Beneteau Italia

A slight change of name for the Beneteau Group’s activities at the Monfalcone shipyard, which as of March 1st will be identified as “Groupe Beneteau Italia“. As a company note explains, this change of name “reflects the evolution of the shipyard and its further integration in the Groupe Beneteau’s global industrial strategy” of the well-known French sailing and motor boat builder.

The name change is just the latest stage in a series of transformations at the Friuli-based production site, which has grown considerably over the last ten years. Initially dedicated to the production of luxury super yachts for the Monte Carlo Yachts brand, the Monfalcone shipyard later became a multi-brand site and expanded its activity in the development and construction of both sailing and motor yachts, including, besides Monte Carlo Yachts, several models for the brands Beneteau, Jeanneau and Prestige.

In 2021, a new GRP molding workshop was created on the site and new staff members were hired and trained in France to the Groupe Beneteau’s latest composite technologies. Over the last year, the Monfalcone shipyard successfully built and launched several new models such as Monte Carlo Yachts MCY 80, Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 and Jeanneau Yacht 65.

Groupe Beneteau Italia therefore becomes one of the Group’s dedicated shipyard and pole of excellence for the construction of units from 60ft and above.

Located on a 45,000 square metre site overlooking the Adriatic Sea, the Monfalcone plant has always prided itself on the know-how of its expert workers, its state-of-the-art paint booth and its own marina. The yard already employs 200 people and is set to become a benchmark for the development and construction of high quality, high performance sailing and motor boats, including the development of prototypes and small series of semi-custom boats.

Groupe Beneteau Italia has announced that it will be recruiting new staff in the coming months to support its growth, which will be focused primarily on the development of the larger units of the group’s house of brands. “Bringing in comfort, safety and well-being as essential components to deliver to the final customers, the company statement continues, “Groupe Beneteau Italia commits to the highest quality standards and guarantees a unique customer experience”.
