Motorsailer changes its appearance. Few years ago, motorsailer was a not exactly performance sailing boat; indeed, it was a slow boat, equipped with an inboard motor allowing to be a little faster than its peers but always not too fast.
Now, its appearance is changing. We have already talked about BD56, a luxury 16-metre-boat which will be provided with one or two outboards for a total maximum power of 700 hp.
Now, it’s the turn of MS6 by Nuva Yachts. A day sailer really halfway between a motorboat and a sailing boat (both MS6 and BD56 come from Spain: a coincidence or foresight?). Its official presentation will be at Palma Boat Show in Palma di Majorca tomorrow, April 28th. But we want to show you the photos of the first prototype.
This almost-six-metre-long boat is equipped with a Yamaha outboard, an electrically retractable keel, a plumb bow, a flat hull and high tacks. It’s light and easy to carry. Its mast and cross-trees are made of carbon, which makes manouevres simple.
A special reference needs to be made to width: MS6 is 2.45 metres wide but it is possible to extend the cockpit, by enlarging tacks in order to reach a width of 3.45 metres.
Below deck, there’s a small double cabin and a chemical wc.
