Catamarans and multihulls

Outremer 52 overwhelmingly wins, third award of the year for a catamaran that is already a legend.

It’s an unprecedented success that Outremer 52 is enjoying. Three major awards in less than a year: Multihull of the Year at the British Yachting Awards, European Yacht Of The Year, and now, just yesterday, the coveted Multihull of the Year 2024 award organized by Multicoques Mag and presented during the most important specific exhibition, the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte.

Decidedly positive evaluations, unequivocally reaffirming a judgment that we ourselves had decreed immediately after climbing on board this magnificent vessel (link to the review).

Outremer 52

The victory comes in a highly coveted and competitive category, that of “sail performance catamarans,” where, moreover, four other vessels were contending for the title, which, it must be emphasized, does not come from the assessment of journalists but directly from the public who freely expressed their judgment through online voting.

Outremer 52 combines the characteristics of the legendary Outremer 51, of which it is the heir, with the innovations, comfort, and incredible performance of the Outremer 55, which we had the chance to test just a few months ago, on a day that allowed us to highlight the distinctive features of this type of boat.

One of the highlights of the Outremer 52 is certainly its ability to sail fast, even in harsh weather conditions. This capability has been achieved thanks to the involvement of renowned naval architects and designers, such as VPLP, who have written the most important pages of sailing in recent years.

Completing the picture of this highly positive evaluation is the work of Patrick Le Quément and Darnet Design. They have contributed to developing a design that is aesthetically beautiful but also functional and carefully crafted to offer maximum comfort, even during long voyages.

Outremer Catamaran

Since 1984, Outremer has been building high-performance catamarans, designed to stand the test of time, with exceptional seaworthiness.

Performance and reliability are integral to Outremer’s philosophy, and are specifically reflected in the design and features of these catamarans.

With over 300 crews sailing worldwide and millions of nautical miles covered, Outremer has created a unique community of enthusiasts. Their experience is a source of innovation and continuous improvement, which is reflected in current production.

Outremer catamarans are specifically built to be easily handled, allowing skippers to sail with peace of mind, whether alone, as a couple, or with family.

He has been working in publishing for more than 30 years and continues to sail incessantly, especially aboard the editorial staff's boat, an old lady of the seas that he has completely rebuilt and which serves excellently as a "mobile laboratory" for The International Yachting Media.
