The agreement was announced last February but the real first result of the collaboration between Raymarine and Rockford Fosgate has been presented at Mets, Amsterdam, this week. Rockford Fosgate is an American company specialized in the production of high-quality advanced audio systems, designed to be used on any means and in any situation, both on land and water.raymarine rockford fosgate audio

In particular, what was presented at Mets is a multifunction audio system, available in different sizes, with or without display, from 2.7 ” to 5′. It is to be noted that anything concerning the audio system control can happen through all Raymarine displays (in the picture, 12” e-Series) provided with Lighthouse II operating system. Moreover, the system has a 2-channel-output, which allows to listen to different sounds in different areas of the boat.

The collaboration with Rockford Fosgate, which takes its place next to and not over that with Fusion, includes, of course, also the provision of amplifiers (from 300 up to 1200 W), loudspeakers (from 6.5″ to 8″) and subwoofers (from 8″ to 12″), all with waterproof IPX 6 certification. Prices vary from 145 to 495 euros. raymarine rockford fosgate audio

At Mets, Raymarine also received the nomination to the Dame Award for its mobile camera Ocean Scout, and  Quantum radar.

The latter is an extremely light device, able to detect and reproduce, on both long and short-ranges, targets in very precise way. CHIRP impulse compression technology uses multiple compressed radars, together with the advanced ATX target separation technology by FLIR which allows a better view of boats, rocks, weather cells. Resolution and high-quality detection represent an important step forward compared to traditional magnetron radars.

CHIRP technology ensures an excellent short-range and long-range detection, in addition to an enhanced target detail with 18’ (6m) minimum range.

The embedded processing system of Quantum removes all noises and interferences and it guarantees a simple silent interpretation of pictures even in very crowded waters.

Moreover, the possibility to enjoy WiFi makes installation simple, with any additional radar cables or interface boxes. Finally, Quantum reduces the electric absorption for the benefit of the on-board battery.
