KILLER WHALE OR WATER TOY?

2 mins read

If you see them, don’t panic… they aren’t killer whales, even though they’re similar in size and scale to the real thing! They’re called Seabreacher Y and they come from USA. They represent the latest innovation in the world of water toys and the new Y series follows Seabreacher Z and X, which had a shark, dolphin or even tiger appearance.

SeabreacherSeabreacher Y is 5.25 metres long, with a weight of 650 kg and a tail able to rotate by 360° in the air in order to simulate the large mammals’ attitude. Of course, the cockpit is watertight and submersible. Dive can lasts 6 seconds and up to a maximum of 2 metres and the vessel is also provided with a snorkel.

The Seabreacher Y comes standard with a 225 hp supercharged engine but a special 300 hp model (maximum speed: 48 knots) has been just delivered to a customer from Abu Dhabi . The standard version can reach 25 knots.Seabreacher 9

We haven’t tested them yet but we guess they can ensure a very funny experience, since they move on three axes like planes and they are steered both with two joysticks (the lateral fins) and pedals (which move fins on the mouth and tail) They can leave from a quay, a normal slipway or they can be stowed on a mega yacht.

Seabreacher 3In addition to the internal cockpit, Seabreacher can have an additional external pilot seat, very similar to that one of water motors. Moreover, all models can be custom-built.

Do you want to test them? The manufacturer offers training/demo days at their seat in Northern California. The experience costs 1000 dollars but don’t warry…. if you decide to buy them, they will be deducted from the final bill.

How much do they cost? We couldn’t discover it. Prices vary from 80 to 100 thousand dollars and they are always dependent on the model  and number of options a customer chooses.
