SEATACI: A FLOATING RESORT SWIMMING LIKE A WHALE

Concept-boats are often the kingdom of pure fantasy which goes beyond imagination and reason. This seems to apply to new Seataci, too, characterized by two large fins which resemble the tail of a whale. Designed by the Canadian Charles Bombardier (nephew of Joseph Armand Bombardier, the founder of the namesake company owner of Evinrude brand), she’s a big luxury and eco-friendly floating resort.

The idea seems to have come to young Bombardier while he was scuba diving in Bora Bora. It’s not by chance that, in fact, Seataci is transparent to let passengers admire seabed. The boat has also a very reduced draught in order to carry rich tourists to islands and atolls snaking among coral reefs. This was possible thanks to her innovative propulsion system.

On the sides of the large central body housing cabins and pilot house, there are two pods, two capsules which will hoist the engines whose final flat parts move like two big fins ensuring, this way, not only the push but also a great lateral stability. The propulsion system is also silent and eco-friendly.

In order to make the most of the sight guaranteed by the large windows on the bottom, Seataci is also capable to submerge herself by using a water ballast system to sink her main hull.

On the contrary, the upper deck is entirely designed to enjoy open-air spaces: there are, in fact, two huge swimming pools, a boundless beach area even equipped with some palm trees and a helipad.

Seataci is a simple concept, a product of fantasy but she already has a price: 100 million dollars. She was originally conceived as a cruising or recreational yacht but her inventor doesn’t exclude a possibile use as means for scientific research.
