The new Vismara Twin was launched some days ago: a partially cuctomized version of 56 Mills, desired by an expert shipowner looking for a reliable comfortable and elegant blue water cruiser.
Like SuperNikka, the project of Twin involved the Irish Mills Design Studio for the waterlines planning and Lucio Micheletti for the interior design. The hull, with a double rudder blade, is made of UT700 carbonfibre and epoxy sandwich: a more thant tested Vismara’s technology that allows to reduce the boat weight ( 14 tons for about 17 metres of length).
The masts are completely made of carbon (stays included), with hydraulic rebar stays, vang and mainsail base. The four electric winches of the cockpit make the other manoeuvres easy. Twin is provided with a roll bar located over the steeering gear zone, equipped with four very efficient solar panels which provide the most of energy on board, according to the green philosophy of the project ( Ocean A-Class Certification).
The planning and construction of sails involved Millennium Technology Center. The Florentine sailmaker’s centre producess its sails with particular machineries and technologies patented all around the world to work fibres, ceramic ovens and a particular vacuum system.
Interiors, designed by Lucio Micheletti and Vismara team, have two astern double cabins and a fore shipowner’s one, with a direct entrance to the crew cabin. The central part of the boat is dedicated to a wide dinette.
