920 Center Console, one of the major novelties from Selva Marine

SELVA MARINE presented many new products during the Genoa International Boat Show, which pleasantly impressed visitors. One of these is undoubtedly the 920 Center Console, representing a significant expansion in the range of fiberglass (GRP) boats produced by Selva, a brand renowned for the reliability of its outboard engines and boats. This new model enters the segment of large open boats, offering a successful balance between sturdy construction, functional space, and performance. From chartering to sport fishing trips or simple outings with friends, the 920 Center Console is a truly ingenious boat. At 9.2 meters in length, it stands out for its configuration, which offers a range of advantages.

The Design Center Console: Maximum Habitability

The heart of the project is the Center Console configuration, a layout beloved by enthusiasts for its exceptional practicality. By placing the helm station in the center, it provides:

  1. Total Freedom of Movement: You can easily walk around the console, from bow to stern, an essential feature both for fishing and for guest boarding/disembarking.
  2. Optimized Spaces: The bow and stern become multifunctional areas that can be set up with sofas, sunbeds, or left open for equipment.
  3. Robust Fiberglass Structure: The fiberglass construction ensures excellent seaworthiness and greater structural strength compared to other types, which is crucial for a 9.2-meter boat.

Intended Use: Charter, Sport Fishing, and Yachting

The vocation of the 920 Center Console is clearly dual, yet always geared toward intensive and high-performance use:

  • Ideal for Chartering: The wide deck space and ease of movement make it perfect for professional chartering. The boat can comfortably accommodate a significant number of people while managing equipment for day trips. Stability and sturdiness ensure comfortable cruising even in rough seas.
  • Sport Fishing: For anglers, the Center Console layout is almost a must. It allows casting from the bow, stern, and sides without obstacles, and following the fish with 360-degree freedom. The solid fiberglass structure can also withstand the stresses of demanding offshore fishing trips.
  • Recreational Use: For those who love spending days at sea with family or friends, the 920 Center Console is perfect, combining simplicity with the performance and versatility of a medium-sized boat.

Given the boat’s length of 9.2 meters, the Selva 920 Center Console falls within the segment of vessels that typically feature high-powered outboard engines, often in a twin-engine configuration, to ensure the performance required for both chartering and offshore sport fishing.

As a Selva product, the boat is designed to be equipped as a package with the brand’s outboard engines.

Selva engine setup options include:

  • 2 x 200 HP (400 HP total): A balanced combination offering a good compromise between power, fuel efficiency, and maneuverability.
  • 2 x 250 HP or 2 x 300 HP (500–600 HP total): For those seeking high performance, fast cruising speeds, and the ability to navigate dynamically even at full load.

Soon, The International Yachting Media will have the opportunity to carry out a sea trial, providing more detailed information on both performance and onboard features.
