Navetta 70: sea trial for Absolute Yachts’ latest masterpiece

It’s hard not to be enchanted at the sight of the new Navetta 70 by Absolute Yachts. Large, elegant, and undeniably sophisticated, it immediately catches my eye as I spot it moored at the dock of Harbour Towne Marina in Dania Beach.

Even in a setting crowded with yachts, the Navetta 70 stands out effortlessly—no small feat in a world where, forgive me, many boats tend to look a bit alike.

With this new model, Absolute Yachts hits the accelerator on innovation, delivering a motor yacht that is completely new—both in terms of exterior styling and interior design.

The result is a yacht with a dynamic and intriguing appearance that remains tasteful, yet makes a strong impression.

But let’s take things step by step and see how this beauty performed at sea.

Navetta 70 Sea Trial

Getting out of this tricky berth is no problem for the Navetta 70. From the flybridge, visibility is outstanding, and with the joystick and onboard cameras, maneuvering is a piece of cake. If it weren’t for her size—just over 21 meters in length and a beam of 5.63 meters—this yacht could practically be handled by a single person. But thanks to its layout, the IPS system, and advanced electronics, a well-coordinated couple can manage even the most complex maneuvers effortlessly.

Once out of the marina, we proceed slowly, cruising through the canals that lead us to open sea. At 10 knots, the Navetta 70 behaves exactly like a superyacht. At this speed, you can cover long distances—even at night—while enjoying life on board with a level of comfort well above average. Cruising like this also minimizes emissions: at 1,200 rpm, the two Volvo IPS engines consume only 68 liters per hour, which is less than 7 liters per nautical mile!

The Navetta 70 transitions from displacement to planing speed at around 13 knots—a shift so smooth you barely notice it. The trim remains unchanged, and the silence on board continues to reign supreme.

If you’re in a hurry and need to cover a lot of miles quickly, cruising at 18 to 20 knots is no issue. At this speed, the engines are at peak torque, yet fuel consumption remains low at just 13 liters per mile—which is impressively efficient for a boat of this size.

When I push the throttle, the Navetta 70 surprises me once again. Of course, this isn’t a sports boat, and there’s really no need to go that fast—but seeing the GPS hit over 27 knots is undeniably satisfying. It’s also a clear testament to the well-designed, hydrodynamically efficient hull that glides through the water with minimal resistance.

Design and functionality

Navetta 70 is the forerunner of a brand-new line of boats where style and design are taken to their highest expression by Absolute Yachts—and it only takes one look to realize it.

The side profile, artfully enlivened by large dark windows, gracefully drawn curves on the hull, and those beautiful open side decks, is strikingly sleek and elegant. And yet, despite this lightness of form, the Navetta 70 offers volumes and living spaces that are significantly above the market average.

Looking at the yacht from the stern, it’s impossible not to be captivated by the sight of the two-tiered terraces of the aft dinette and the flybridge. Both feature barely-there glass railings that visually dissolve the yacht’s boundaries and elegantly lighten its considerable bulk.

We reach the aft dinette by climbing a few steps from the beach club up to the main deck. Here, we’re welcomed by an elegant bar unit that serves the entire area. Three armchairs on each side offer seating for six with a truly privileged view of the sea.

Stepping inside, we’re greeted by a sophisticated and elegant interior design where modern circular motifs create an environment that’s unmistakably stylish, luxurious, and distinctive. Rounded-corner furniture, thoughtfully chosen décor, and recessed ceiling lights all contribute to the refined atmosphere—nothing is left to chance in this magnificent living space. Particularly noteworthy are the vertical grooves in the cabinetry and the slatted finish on the forward wall—details that both highlight the quality craftsmanship and lend an airy feel to the larger surfaces.

Moving forward, we reach the raised and impressively spacious interior helm station, equipped with two helm chairs and large display screens. The centrally positioned helm ensures excellent visibility both forward and to the sides.

The master cabin is located forward on a level entirely dedicated to the owner. Accessed directly from the main deck via a few steps, it opens into what feels like a private apartment, stretching across the full beam of the yacht. The centrally positioned king-size bed enjoys a privileged view through the large windows on either side of the suite. Wardrobes, nightstands, and elegant wall paneling complete the space, offering an area that rivals the comfort and volume typically found on a 30-meter superyacht.

The en suite bathroom is situated at the very bow—and it’s enormous. Upon entering, you’re immediately struck by the beautifully crafted vanity with twin sinks set into a marble countertop. To the left, there’s a spacious double shower clad in white marble, and to the right, a second low cabinet provides ample storage for keeping the bathroom perfectly organized.

On the lower deck, there are three additional cabins: a second master that’s almost on par with the first in terms of comfort, and two VIP cabins with single beds that can be electrically converted into doubles if needed.

A fifth cabin, reserved for the crew, is located aft with private access from the beach club. It features two generous single beds, a dedicated bathroom, and direct access to the engine room. This area also accommodates the washing machines and dryers—an essential amenity for life on board.

Navetta 70 – Flybridge

The flybridge of the Navetta 70 deserves a chapter of its own. With such a wide surface area, it essentially serves as a third living deck, adding an extraordinary amount of space to this yacht. Upon stepping up, you’re welcomed by a bar unit and an L-shaped galley on the port side, perfectly positioned to serve the large eight-person dining table and the expansive aft sunbathing area.

A large T-top shelters this space, equipped with integrated lighting and capable of supporting a significant number of solar panels. Especially when at anchor, this allows you to shut off both the engines and the generator, enjoying the silence and the gentle sound of the sea.

At the front, the centrally placed helm station is flanked by two large sofas, letting guests comfortably join the captain and take in the navigation experience. The visibility from here is, of course, exceptional—with an unobstructed view in all directions around the yacht.

Aft, the Navetta 70’s sunbathing area is outfitted with high-quality loungers, armchairs, and low tables, all of which can be repositioned at will. This flexibility allows the entire area to be reconfigured depending on the occasion or mood.

Navetta 70 – Bow

The bow of the Navetta 70 serves as yet another spacious social area.

Here, a large U-shaped sofa wraps around an expandable table, providing a comfortable setting for 6 to 8 people to enjoy outdoor dining in complete privacy while moored, or to relax in the cool sea breeze when at anchor.

At the center of the bow is a generous sunpad for up to four people, and just forward of that is the anchor windlass, which is equipped with mooring winches to assist with docking maneuvers.

This entire area can also be elegantly shaded using carbon fiber poles and fitted sun awnings.
