BENETTI MEDITERRANEO 116, THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT, WILL BE AT CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL

The project presented by Benetti last year will become reality at the next Cannes Yachting Festival: we’re talking about the launch, in a world preview, of new Mediterraneo 116, the last jewel of the group. The new model belonging to Class Displacement range is a 35.50-metre-boat with soft sleek lines.

The crucial element of the project has been the management and exaltation of natural light. This is evident from the huge and numerous windows aboard. The full-height crystal door on the main deck, which introduces to the main saloon, has a clear opening of over 2 metres and, always in the saloon, two French doors open on the exterior walkway (which, thanks to its size, can be used as a small balcony). Consequently, spaces are literally flooded with light.

On the main deck, we meet another example of the design “revolution” and spaces arrangement of Benetti Mediterraneo 116: the huge cockpit, 6 metres wide, offers a wonderfull view on the sea until the bow, through a smart play on spaces ergonomics.

Some things remain unchanged, such as the standard lower deck with four guest cabins, each with a wonderful view on the sea, and the forward zone of the main deck totally dedicated to the shipowner’s suite. On the forward part of the lower deck, there are 3 double crew cabins and the captain’s one for a total capacity of seven people.

Another feature of Mediterraneo 116 concerns on-board circulation, conceived to make the crew always available but in a very discreet way.

On the upper deck, a wonderful swimming pool is completely customisable according to the future owner’s tastes. Other exterior spaces include a sun deck that measures 80 square metres.

As regards performances, the yard has declared a maximum speed of about 15 knots and a cruising one of 14. At 10 knots, autonomy reaches 3000 miles. The boat is pushed by two Man V-12-1400 Hp engines.

The launch of Mediterraneo will be only the “first step” of Benetti’s hot September. Two other new boats will be presented in Montecarlo: a 45-metre-boat and a 63-metre-one. Benetti is working on three different product lines: Class, Displacement and Fast Displacement, all made of composite – flanked by Custom models, made of steel and aluminium, with a minimum length of 45 metres.
