Club Menorquín France, success for the second rally on the French Riviera: 13 crews gathered in the spirit of slow navigation

The community of Menorquín owners is constantly growing. From May 26 to 29, Club Menorquín France gathered thirteen crews and boats of different generations along the French Riviera, all sharing the same navigation philosophy. The second official rally of the association—which was founded in September 2025 in Hyères—alternated four days of cruising with convivial moments among owners, consolidating a spirit of collaboration that goes far beyond a simple passion for the boats built by the Spanish shipyard SASGA Yachts.

Four Days of Sailing Between Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and the Lérins Islands

The event began on May 26 with a flotilla cruise toward Saint-Tropez featuring six boats, which concluded with an aperitif and dinner organized at the port. The following day, the fleet reached Mandelieu-La-Napoule, where new crews joined. The harbor coordinated the simultaneous arrival of the boats, facilitating docking despite some logistical difficulties. The day continued with a visit to the famous Château de La Napoule, the historic residence of Henry and Marie Clews, followed by the official Club Menorquín France dinner. Guests included José Luis Sastre, General Manager of SASGA Yachts, who arrived directly from Menorca to present the shipyard’s latest innovations to the owners and gather feedback and experiences directly from those who live on the boats every day.

On May 28, the day was dedicated to sailing in the Bay of Cannes. After lunch at a beachfront restaurant, the crews spent the afternoon at anchor between the Lérins Islands, enjoying swimming, visiting each other aboard their tenders, and sharing convivial moments. The rally concluded on May 29 with an informal picnic near Sainte-Marguerite Island before the participants headed home. The entire tour was blessed with favorable weather conditions.

A Community Built Around the Menorquín Style

Club Menorquín France was created with the goal of establishing a network of friendship and cooperation among owners, encouraging the exchange of information on ports, anchorages, maintenance, and service providers, as well as promoting group sailing and mutual assistance at sea. Furthermore, the association represents the common interests of the owners before the relevant authorities, highlighting the unique philosophy of Menorquín boats: these are cruising yachts designed for relaxed, comfortable navigation dedicated to the pleasure of the sea rather than performance.

Great satisfaction was expressed by the president of Club Menorquín France, Pierre Coureil, who stressed that “the success of the initiative was made possible by the beautiful weather, the commitment of the organizers, the support of Yachting Conseil and Yacht Consultant, and the trust placed in us by the members.” Even more significant, according to Coureil, is the human connection achieved: “Many owners who did not know each other before the creation of the Club now cross paths spontaneously at anchorages, share photographs through the WhatsApp group, and help each other via the association’s forum to solve small, everyday issues.

A distinctive feature of the Club is also the presence of Menorquíns belonging to different generations and sizes, bearing witness to the ability of the models built by SASGA Yachts to maintain a strong identity over time and to continue creating a true community of enthusiasts.

Club Menorquín France Is Already at Work on the 2027 Events

The Club is now looking ahead to its upcoming events. Among the proposals being studied is a large rally in Menorca, the brand’s homeland, to allow members to visit the shipyard, including those who cannot reach the island by sea. The second option involves a new gathering along the French Riviera, continuing the formula that successfully characterized the 2025 and 2026 editions. Final decisions will be made during the Club’s general assembly, scheduled for mid-October.

It is the association that brings together owners of Menorquín boats in France. Founded in September 2025 in Hyères, it promotes flotilla sailing, the exchange of experiences among owners, and collaboration on topics related to maintenance and life on board.

The second edition of the rally was held from May 26 to 29, 2026, along the French Riviera, between Saint-Tropez, Mandelieu-La-Napoule, and the Lérins Islands.

Thirteen crews with Menorquín boats of different generations, sizes, and configurations took part in the rally, some present for the entire duration of the event and others only for specific stages.

The association is evaluating two events for 2027: a rally in Menorca, the historical home of the Menorquín brand, and a new collective cruise along the French Riviera. The final decision will be made by the members during the general assembly scheduled for October.
