The Italian boatyard Fim has released the first images of the 470 Regina, the latest additon to its open range, featuring an innovative and unique bow configuration with a practical and partitioned sundeck that create a small pool. The 470 Regina is currently under construction and will make her world debut first at the Cannes Yachting Festival (Fim’s booth will be QSP 154 / QSP 035) and then at the Genoa Boat Show.

The 470 Regina is a sporty open yacht with modular and versatile solutions that maximize outdoor space while allowing for a very close relationship with the sea. The yacht is equipped with folding terraces and a divisible sundeck to provide ample space in the centre as well as easy accessibility. The stern platform is equipped with a lifting and handling system that facilitates launching and hauling a small tender or jet ski, while the bow, as mentioned, features a great innovation christened “Bow Life” by the designers, thanks to which the two halves of the divisible solarium can be moved to the sides to create a true beach area in the bow. This walkable area can be used in various ways, such as filling it with seawater to create a small pool, or adding a table to turn it into an additional dining area. What’s more, this solution ensures excellent natural lighting in the forward cabin, which is located under the reinforced glass.

Like the previous 340 Regina model, the 470 Regina was designed by Paolo Ferragni, owner of Ferragni Progetti, and is fully customisable in terms of materials, accessories, colours and engines. Regarding this last aspect, the 470 Regina is available with two Volvo Penta IPS 650 or IPS 800 that allow her to reach a maximum speed of 39 knots. All the domotic systems and on-board instrumentation are by Raymarine. The boat will also be available in an outboard version, equipped with three or four Yamaha 425hp engines, specifically designed for the US market, where Fim is represented by a dealer and where the 340 Regina has already had considerable success.

Bow-LifeAs Corrado Piccinelli, founder of Fim, points out, the 470 Regina is “a beautiful boat with surprising spaces. The family feeling with the 340 Regina is obvious, but this new model has unique features that set it apart from boats currently on the market. The 470 Regina has a revolutionary bow, with a divisible sunbathing area and a central pool“.

Manuela Barcella, the company’s co-founder, adds that “the spaces have been optimized to provide more liveable volumes for the same length: an essential feature to compete in a competitive market. A market that the Fim team knows very well: although the yard was formally founded in 2019, it has over 20 years of experience in the field of new construction, refitting and service.”

Elengant lines, high performance

The 470 Regina is a boat with a sporty yet elegant line, a symbol of design and Italian-made quality, as the Fim boatyard has become accustomed to. Suitable for anyone wishing to own a high-performance boat while enjoying comfort and ample space, the 470 Regina arrives in perfect continuity with the 340 Regina, having been designed with the same level of attention to detail, choosing made-in-Italy furniture and accessories for this new model as well.

The aesthetic lines, FIM-470-Regina-Cabinmoreover, have seen the important contribution of Vannis Marchi, a Fim partner and co-founder of the Italian fashion company Liu-Jo, who was involved in the project, making an important contribution in terms of stylistic and aesthetic choices, especially with regard to high-end accessories such as the Artemide lamps in the interiors, the retractable bollards at the stern, the carbon fibre telescopic poles for the bow awning and the luxury upholstery. The sofa and pouf are made by an important furniture maker located in Brianza, an area where the culture of design has its roots and has been handed down for generations, while the mould of the steering wheel has been made exclusively for this special model, present only on the 470 Regina, adding a further element of value that is absolutely unique and not available on the market.

470 Regina – Interior

The interior layout of the 470 Regina features two luxurious and spacious 2.15-metre master cabins. Each cabin is equipped with a private toilet and shower, and the forward owner’s cabin includes a versatile area that can be configured, depending on the owner’s requirements, into an office, bar or make-up station. For owners who wish to stay on board with several guests, a special three-cabin configuration is also available.

Thanks to the modern wooden furniture, contemporary design inserts and refined details, the atmosphere inside the yacht is elegant and cosy. Particularly charming is the washroom, which features Laminam countertops with a marble-effect finish, matching and contrasting with the high-quality Velis fittings by the Italian company Nobili. The high-end, petrol blue washbasins are made of stainless steel.
