4 mins read

Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise has been recently launched in Pesaro, Italy, finally ready for her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, from September 12-17.

The flagship of the Grand Soleil fleet, like her twin in the Performance version, launched on the market last year, is a project curated by Cantiere del Pardo in collaboration with Franco Corazza, the project manager for the entire Grand Soleil range over 60 feet. His impressive effort at the side of a team of great professionals from the sailing world, such as Matteo Polli, Marco Lostuzzi and the Milanese studio Nauta Design has resulted in a safe, appealing and eco-friendly boat.

The model is designed for owners who love comfort, safety and autonomy aboard, while being highly considerate of the marine environment.

Tradition and attention to detail are the cornerstones of Grand Soleil yachts, which are all built according to the highest standards of the boating industry, the result of 50 years of history and experience gained by Cantiere del Pardo.

In addition to he launch of the GS 72 Long Cruise, the shipyard is currently working on two other hulls of the Performance version: the first is undergoing assembly, while hull no. 3 is in the lamination phase. Also for the Grand Soleil 65, scheduled for world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, two Long Cruise hulls are already under construction.

Exterior Design

Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise is an out-of-the-box sailing yacht, an ambitious yet concrete design characterized by a deckhouse with a large 270° window that has been shortened, raised and widened compared to the Performance version. A C-shaped seat and a straight seat characterize this new cockpit layout, where the companionway and the ladder have been moved to the side to obtain a different solution compared to the predecessor. Furthermore, the entire dinette is raised, allowing you to enjoy the view of the external landscape both in a sitting and standing position.

Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise: Interior

Developed by Nauta Design, the interior relates perfectly with the geometries of the deck, with every volume specifically studied to use all available spaces aboard. The design and the various material palettes create a sober, fresh, elegant and welcoming style in the interiors.

As with the Performance version, various internal layout solutions have also been studied for the Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise: both versions have the master cabin forward, but differ in the layout of the galley and the location of the guest and crew cabins.

The main salon is the truly beating heart of the Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise. To the left is a welcoming L-shaped sofa with a dining table that can comfortably seat up to eight people. Starboard is an elegant U-shaped sofa that extends towards the bow up to the chart area, with a wall-mounted dashboard.

Having passed its technical launch, this amazing new yacht is finally ready to fascinate all the sailing enthusiasts who eagerly await her arrival in the market during her world debut next September on the French Riviera. Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise is ready to be presented to the world, and we can’t wait.
