ICE 62, the evolution of success: first photos unveiled

A top-tier fast cruiser, designed for owners seeking the very best in performance, comfort, and innovative design. With the new ICE 62, Ice Yachts is about to launch yet another masterpiece in the world of sailing yachts: just one look at the first photos is enough to see we’re looking at a perfect blend of speed, elegance, and functionality. It draws inspiration from the powerful lines of its predecessor, the ICE 60, while taking things a step further. And if the images aren’t enough, a glance at the list of technical specs will confirm that this yacht features the very best the market currently has to offer in terms of outfitting.

The ICE 62 in detail

ICE 62 maintains the high level of build quality that is a hallmark of the shipyard. With its captivating design, refined details, and clean, elegant lines, this yacht embodies the best of Ice Yachts’ tradition. The functional deck is designed to offer generous maneuvering space and safe sailing, while preserving a modern, sophisticated style. The redesigned coachroof and sheerline give the yacht a more contemporary, sporty look, without compromising the quality and comfort that define every ICE boat. The interiors are finished to the finest detail, creating a welcoming and refined atmosphere—perfect for long-range cruising or simply enjoying the sea in total relaxation.

The four-cabin layout includes two spacious and well-organized guest cabins aft; a cabin opposite the galley, featuring a double Pullman bed; and a large, beautifully finished master cabin forward that offers a private, quiet retreat with its own ensuite bathroom. The owner can also configure a crew cabin in the bow. The fixed induction galley is fully integrated into the Corian countertop for a sleek, modern, and functional look, and it includes a dishwasher.

Two keel configurations

Designed for outstanding hydrodynamic performance, the ICE 62 features optimized hull lines to deliver top-tier performance in all sea conditions. One of its standout features is the choice between two keel configurations, tailored to suit different usage scenarios and owner preferences:

  • Telescopic keel: this option allows the draft to vary from 2.40 to 3.20 meters, offering great versatility. In the raised position, it enables access to shallow harbors or anchorages, while in the extended position it ensures optimal upwind performance by increasing the yacht’s stability and stiffness under sail.
  • Traditional fixed keel: available with a 2.85-meter draft, this version represents a balanced solution between performance and structural simplicity—ideal for owners who prefer a more straightforward setup without moving parts. This dual option makes the ICE 62 highly adaptable to any sailing plan—from long-range cruising in shallow waters to offshore racing, where every centimeter of draft can make a difference in terms of performance.

Retractable appendages, including bow and stern thrusters, ensure exceptional maneuverability and significantly simplify docking operations.

Top-tier equipment on board

The ICE 62 is powered by a 110 HP Yanmar engine, enabling it to reach a top speed of 12 knots even in calm conditions—delivering solid performance both while cruising and under engine power. The combination of twin rudders and advanced appendages ensures precise, responsive handling, whether you’re out cruising or racing.

The yacht comes equipped with only the finest onboard gear. Highlights include:

  • Hull and deck in full carbon with epoxy resins, offering a combination of lightness, strength, and high performance.
  • Hull and coachroof painted with the Awlgrip system, renowned for its durability and premium finish, enhanced by a beauty line that adds elegance and style.
  • International antifouling treatment, protecting the hull from algae and marine growth, paired with integrated vibrating marine sensors that emit low-frequency pulses to reduce biofouling and keep surfaces cleaner and more efficient over time.
  • Twin rudders with carbon blades and shafts, delivering superior control and excellent maneuverability.
  • Plasdeck synthetic teak decking in Blonde color, with grey caulking and a fluorescent perimeter line for enhanced visibility and safety. The 3 mm thickness ensures a durable and wear-resistant finish.
  • Flush-mounted Seasmart hatches, combining sleek aesthetics with optimal functionality.
  • Quick bow and stern thrusters, providing advanced maneuverability and superior performance in all sailing conditions.
  • Tender garage for a RIB over 3 meters, allowing for easy tender storage and quick access.
  • Paguro 8500 generator (8 kW), ensuring a continuous, independent power supply during extended cruising.
  • Victron 5000W inverter, for efficient onboard power management.
  • Oversized carbon mast with furling boom, boosting sailing performance and simplifying handling.
  • RSH hydraulic adjustment system for backstay and vang, allowing for precise sail control while underway.
  • Electric furlers for jib and Code 0 by Bamar, enhancing downwind performance and simplifying sail handling.
  • Oversized mooring cleats and midship cleats, for increased safety and stability during docking and maneuvering.
  • Helmsman footrests, providing ergonomic support and added comfort at the helm.
  • Seasmart removable bimini supports, allowing for quick and easy removal when needed.
  • Dual cockpit tables with BARKA electric adjustment, offering greater versatility and comfort during onboard relaxation.
  • B&G electronic instrumentation, ensuring reliable and advanced navigation support.
  • Hydraulic opening stern hatch, with an opening height of over one meter for safe and easy access.
  • Harken mooring winch, for smooth and efficient docking operations.

In conclusion, the ICE 62 is the ideal option for anyone seeking a fast cruiser that combines outstanding performance, excellent comfort, and refined design—all in a single yacht. Perfect for discerning owners, it’s ready to deliver unforgettable experiences at sea, whether racing or cruising.
