One of the stars at the Paris Boat Show was undoubtedly the Jeanneau DB/43, and it could only be that way for this premium Day Boat, already presented at FLIBS, which aims to take comfort on deck and under way to the highest level ever achieved by the yard.

Jeanneau DB/43, a huge Beach Club

Jeanneau DB43 side viewA finalist in the “Sportcruiser up to 45 feet” category at the Motor Boat Awards 2023, a finalist in the “Best for Family” category of Best of Boats Award 2022 and nominated for the European Powerboat of the Year Award 2023 in the “Up to 14 metres” category, the DB/43 is designed by Camillo Garroni to synthesize luxury and elegance but also stability and manoeuvrability in 13 metres.

There are many distinctive features, but the one that jumps out at me immediately is the area behind the cockpit which, with its two side openterraces that can be opened, creates a real Beach Club with direct access to the sea. There are many distinctive features, but the one that jumps out at me immediately is the area behind the cockpit which, with its two side openable terraces, creates a real Beach Club with direct access to the sea. The backrests fold down to make room in the cockpit for a magnificent saloon set against the island kitchen that looks like a bar: up to 12 people can be seated on board and this space is designed specifically to create maximum conviviality.

The helm station is equally high level, with three comfortable leather seats and all the latest-generation instrumentation on the helm console behind which is a space with a sink and galley that anticipates the modular cockpit sofa that slides forward or aft, depending on the need for a dining area or a seating area facing forward.

Great volumes below deck and 40-knot speed

As far as the interior is master cabinconcerned, of course, all the expectations of owners looking for ample space and all the comfort needed to spend several days on a boat without giving anything up are met. The sleeping zone consists of 2 cabins for a total of 5 berths. The very large and bright forward cabin has a comfortable double bed, a wardrobe, chests of drawers and one or two heads with separate shower compartments, depending on your choice.

Jeanneau DB43 stern viewThe second cabin, on the other hand, is located in the middle of the boat and features a second double bed as well as a comfortable sofa bed. All, needless to say, covered in high-quality upholstery, wood finishes and fine leather.

Coming to the engines, the Jeanneau DB/43 is available in both outboard and inboard versions, a choice that affects the stern platform. In the inboard version with two 380 hp Volvo Penta D6s, top speeds of around 30 knots are reached, rising to around 40 with three 350 hp engines each in the outboard configuration: this is not a boat that has sporting ambitions, but one that aims for stable and clean cruising, typical of a Day Boat.
