JEANNEAU NC 9: 9 METRES OF VERSATILITY WITH NO COMPROMISES

6 mins read

The New Concept range by Jeanneau was born in 2011 with the family forefather NC 11.

Jeanneau NC 9 appeared in 2012.

With the arrival of a little more than 9-metre long boat we would have expected a small backward step as regards the  completeness of trimmings. But it is sufficient to take a look aboard to realise that this NC 9 has been able to maintain all the elements which had characterised the elder sister’s layout and success.

This is the result of the successful collaboration between the experts of the French shipyard and Garroni Studio, who have been able to propose the good space-saving ideas already adopted by NC 11 with a new layout and conception.

The result is a compact boat, ideal for families or groups of friends. So, not a racing craft ( the maximum speed it can reach is 24,6 knots) but a quiet and easy-to-use boat.

The Volvo D4 260 engine assures good performances.

Practical and intelligent solutions to optimise external spaces

Versatility is the key word on deck.

For example, the poop sofa lies on some rails which can make it go backwards and forewards depending on your needs: a bench near the cockpit will be certainly comfortable if you stop for a refreshing bath. On the contrary, a astern sofa will be ideal to relax, with more floor pace in the cockpit.

Like in NC 11, NC 9 has asymmetrical gangways, a good solution to optimise spaces.

Since Jeanneau NC 9 is ideal for families, safety and comfort are the main aspects. Consequently, the high handrails and the handholds on the deckhouse offer to the passengers more comfort and safety while they move from the poop to the bow.

The bow is almost completely occupied by a comfortable sunbathing zone, which is almost 1,5 m long.

Equipped with large optional pillows, it will make happy all those who love comforts and suntan.

The large hardtop window can be opened to enjoy the fresh marine breeze on the most pleasant days. For those who prefer comfort even in the smallest details, Jeanneau proposes an electric opening system.

The deckhouse with its good windows has a captivating and bright appearance.

Flexible elements and comfortable interiors

Maybe, Jeanneau and Garroni’s talent in terms of versatility is expressed the most in the interiors.

The living room is cozy and familiar and it alternates white and warm wood coulour. The closed part is well-connected with the cockpit.

On the port side there is a small and compact kitchen. The star board living coin gives evidence of all its versatility. The two facing small sofas are divided by a comfortable table, ideal to welcome passengers in a friendly and convivial way.

If necessary, the two seats can be rotated to acquire new different functions: the fore bench can be overturned to stay on the side of the travel direction, so it can become a good co-pilot’s seat. The rear sofa, on the contrary, can be turned poopwards in order to expand the cockpit and create a living coin in the middle thanks to the sliding glass doors.

So, everything on Jeanneau NC 9 offers a great freedom of movement to the passengers.

The control room is compact and efficient, ideal for a captain who wants to enjoy his travel without problems. He can seat down or stand up.

However, the ” standing drive” option doesn’t consider not tall helmsmen and the risk is that the hardtop might cloud their view.

On the right of the control room, there is the entrance to the sleeping quarters.

The guest cabin is located on the port side and it is not very large. After all, it is good only for two young people.

The bathroom is on starboard, while the ship owner’s cabin on the bow is a great example of efficient and optimised spaces: the bed has a comfortable container which can reach 140 cm or 2 metres, by adding or removing the mattress sections.

Jeanneau NC 9 never forgets its “family” vocation. So, it includes also a inflatable raft in the poop locker.

Safety comes first!
