Karnic SL 800 by Selva
This year, Selva Marine has 
got Paris with an impressive booth. The spotlight is all on the novelty that Selva Marine has unveiled in world premiere: the Karnic SL 800 by Selva. We have visited her and, now, we can say that she has amazed us three times!
The first surprise is an immediate discovery and concerns dimensions. As we approach the boat, the board with the technical specifications of the boat tells us that the real overall length of the hull is 9.20 meters. The acronym in the name – SL 800 – is deceptive because the yacht does not measure 8 meters, which translates into an important advantage for the owner.
We climb on board. The spaces of the exterior dinette are remarkable, you can move very comfortably without feeling trapped between angles and corners.
The environment is airy and there are four seats in the stern with specific rails built in the cockpit. They make seats slide to the bow to create a huge a sun pad. Thanks to this solution, it is also possible to enjoy a U-shaped seating layout in order to increase the number of seats around the table.
The central console is well-equipped. The two pilot seats are wide and separated by a convenient armrest with cup holders, which clearly suggests the attention to comfort of this yacht.
We move towards the bow of the Karnic SL 800 by Selva. Here, we find our second surprise. It’s the central sun pad which offers a really wide, functional, unusual space.
Never seen on boats of this size, it can accommodate two adults in total comfort and, on the Karnic SL 800, can also be converted into a double inclined seat. However, special features don’t end here. The area is, indeed, equipped with a pop-up bimini top, independent from the astern one and equipped with exclusive stereo speakers. All these details make the sun pad an area totally independent from the astern dinette. A real “plus”.
Below deck, we find the third and biggest surprise. The Karnic SL 800 has 4 berths: many for an open boat of just 9 meters.
Two are positioned behind the ladder, within a double berth that develops horizontally, using all the beam available. As you can imagine, the access is not very high but allows to get into bed without too many problems. Lying on the bed, you can feel comfortable, volumes are excellent and you feel like being on board a much bigger boat.
The other two berths are located in the dinette. The central table can be lowered and combined with seats, creating an additional double bed.
From what we have observed, the new Karnic SL 800 by Selva is a well-conceived product and she has really impressed us. The innovative and particular exteriors, the highly spacious interiors combined with the possibility to enjoy four berths make her a really multi-functional boat.
The new Selva Marine’s model is therefore very appealing to all those who want to enjoy long-range family cruising without having to buy a bigger boat. When used by a couple, she also gives the possibility of not converting the dinette at night, as on a 10/11-meter boat.
But seeing this boat out of water made us want to sea trial it. This is why we have also set the date for our test. So, stay tuned. We will tell you how this wonderful yacht acts in its natural element.
