The renowned pianist and composer, Ludovico Einaudi, had his most challenging performance with his gran piano (and a life jacket) on a floating platform off the semifrozen lake Wahlenbergbreen in Svalbard Islands (Norway). The performance, “Elegy for the Arctic” was organised together with Greenpeace to promote a new campaign in defence and protection of the Arctic.

Greenpeace is pursuing a petition to create a first protected marine area in the international waters of the Arctic.  ” The Arctic is melting. Over 7.5 million people, from all around the world, have raised their voice to ask for its protection. The Arctic is important for its biodiversity, because it regulates the global warning and we have to preserve it for future generations. These are only some of the reasons why we have to protect the Arctic”
