PALM BEACH. MENORQUIN YACHTS LAND IN THE USA

The news was officially broken few days ago at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The boats built by the Spanish shipyard Sasga will be distributed in the United States by one among the overseas leading importers and distributers of boats, SYS International Yachts Sales.

However important it is from the perspective of market and for the calibre of the American distributor, one of the first to be certified by the prestigious Certified Professional Yacht Broker Program, the news arises great interest especially because of the name of the shipyard, or rather, that of its boats, the legendary Menorquin yachts.

Inspired by”llaüts“, the traditional fishing boats of Menorca, the Spanish island where, in 1978,  Juan Sastre Bernat founded Astilleros Menorca, Menorquin yachts have got famous for many reasons but mostly because everyone likes them: passionate sailors, recreational fishermen, lovers of big yachts and fast motorboats. Everyone recognizes the particular beauty of these boats.

Safe, comfortable and highly stable, they are all well-equipped and with an unmistakable style which have always made them unique and far from temporal fashion and characterizations.

The first Astilleros Menorca boats were 8 metres long and carried the grandiose name “Conquistador”. And, in fact, they experienced a huge success through the Menorquin Yachts brand which, from the beginning of the third millennium, has literally conquered international markets.

In 2012, the Sastre family founded Sasga Yachts and started to build extremely innovative boats but always in the style of original Menorquin fishing watercrafts. In the same year, the Menorquin 42 was launched.

The new range immediately expanded through the production of the Menorquin 54, shown with its Hardtop and Flybridge versions. Last year, the Menorquin 34 finally achieved the nomination as “powerboat of the year” in many countries.

These days, the shipyard has concluded a deal with the SYS society which will import the whole Minorquin range, from the 34-footer to the Flybridge 68-footer, in the USA.

The aim is to transfer into the US market all the elements characterising Sasga Yachts products, namely high customization, build quality, attention to detail and exclusive design which, in its turn, results in unusual inner volumes, high comfort, great stability and excellent price/quality ratio.

“I’m really excited – SYS Sales Manager Paul Flannery told us – about the opportunity to bring this excellent product to the US market.  I think that high quality, great volumes and excellent price/quality ratio are the winning keys of these boats. And I believe that, thanks to a range which currently goes from 34 up to 38 feet, we can offer comfort and safety to both owners and their families, regardless of their size, and contribute to make their dreams come true.
