NEW AZIMUT 66 FLYBRIDGE PRESENTED AT BOOT DÜSSELDORF

As promised, we followed the official launch of the latest Azimut creation, Flybridge 66, at the Nautical Exhibition of Düsseldorf. After the publication of the first picture some time ago, the shipyard from Avignana has presented the detailed features of the new model belonging to a category where Azimut is a market leader, with over 300 units sold in the last ten years.

Azimut 66 Flybridge is completely faithful to the brand line: external willowy sporting lines (designed by Massimo Righini), luxury and Italian style. Interiors are larger, especially thanks to the large use of carbon fibre in construction, which allows to increase volumes with the same weight and dynamic stability. Carbon is especially used in the upper parts of the boat (hard top, fore fly bridge, radar arch), where weight might compromise stability. Azimut’s high planning standards concern the fiberglass parts, too, laminated with variable layouts and made in vinylester resin for the best weather protection.

Azimut has paid a lot of attention even in the least visible details: tightness in the bulkhead passages for electric cables and hydraulic pipes, bronze links under the waterline, softened vibrations thanks to particular solutions.

Azimut 66 Flybridge is a very technological boat, too: it borrows many solutions from automation and car industry, such as an electric innovative steering gear which caters to the shipowner’s driving style by assuring the least effort and the greatest sensibility. The panel which divides the kitchen from the living room can be matted electrically for more privacy and all lights can be set. Finally, of course, the most nautical technology, with the integrated Raymarine systems compatible with the most of equipments: engines, bilge pumps, engine room ventilation, audio systems and air conditioned. Everything is accessable remotely from your tablet.

Interiors, designed by  Carlo Galeazzi, are contemporary and comfortable. On the main bridge, there is a hall with opposed sofas, large lateral windows and luxury details: a storable 55” tv, a backlit glass showcase, an illuminated wine cooler in the bar and a dinette set next to the driver’s seat. On the lower bridge, there are a large shipowner’s cabin with a large bathroom, a Vip cabin and two cabins with twin beds and large portholes. Each bathroom has a separated shower.

As regards exteriors, the most amazing thing is the 28-sq.m flybridge, the biggest one of its category, made up of three separated areas. On the main deck there is a central dinette, a fore sunbathing platform and an astern zone which can become a dinette or a sunbathing zone. Under the hydraulic pilot house, there is a large garage which can host a 325-cm tender.
