Prince 23
Sometimes it’s really true, union is strength. Put together the best of boat electronics and one of the most popular boats on the market and what you get is an astonishing high-tech rib.
That’s the result of a very interesting collaboration between Raymaine Italia and Nuova Jolly and we visited it at Mandello del Lario, on Lake Lecco. In short, this Prince 23 is an advanced lab-boat equipped with all the new products of the English brand (a branch of Flir Group), generally used to test the latest products and show them to customers and journalists.
The list of equipments is very long. First of all, the multifunction Series eS plotter (21”) with new Lighthouse R17 operating system, GRIBweather App and, in agreement with Navionics, Autorouting dock-to-dock. There is also a second Blink keyboard, new Radar Quantum™ provided with CHIRP impulse compression technology and wi-fi connection, new VHF Ray 50 and three different fish finders: CP 100, CP 200 and the professional CP 470.
In addition to all this electronics, Prince 23 is one of the best-sellers of the yard. As Teo Ajello has told us recently, this rib is one of their most popular models. An elegant walkaround with a length of 7.50 metres and a capacity of 14 passengers.
The main strength of this boat is a maniacal attention to details and high-quality finishings. Among the things we liked the most, the practical awning closing system and the ergonomic stern bridges.
We’ll reveal you many other details of this boat very soon with the publication of our complete test. For the moment, we can tell you that, pushed by a Mercury Varado 225 Hp engine, we touched a maximum speed of 43 knots.
