OUT-OF-CONTROL MOTORBOAT EJECTS OWNER AND GUESTS: PANIC IN INDIANA

2 mins read

When the sea plays up, even the most experienced sailor might not be able to keep control of the boat. But when the boat itself goes crazy, especially with no passengers aboard, the danger exponentially grows greater.

An incredible video from USA shows the crazy race of a Correct Craft Ski Nautique, left with no one aboard after a sharp violent turn. The boat started spinning out of control and the result was a terrible experience for the ten occupants of the boat who were inevitably ejected from the 20-footer sailing at 30 mph.

The boat then continued to travel alone circling a populated portion of the lake not far from a shoreline for about 10 seconds. It caused property damage and serious injuries before crashing into another boat. The impact was inevitable and the two people on board had a real hard time. Fortunately, however, the accident caused no victims.

The runaway boat was stopped with great difficulty by local authorities who finally were able to throw a rope around the propeller of the boat. The incredible episode happened on Lake Gage, in Indiana, USA. The ten passengers thrown from the boat suffered serious injuries but fortunately survived the terrible experience.

Alcohol and drugs were found to be a factor of the accident. Consequently, the operator of the boat, a 20-year-old girl, was arrested for Boat While Intoxicated causing injury and being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The filing of additional charges is possible, especially considering that the girl has recently served a sentence in the County of Steuben. In retrospect, that’s not nice to say she would have done better to stay in prison but we think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to avoid driving in those conditions…
