Prestige 460 S: the new sporty coupé presented at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

4 mins read

There is no doubt. The “queen” of the numerous models presented at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show by the French shipyard Prestige Yachts was the Prestige 460 S, the new member of the S-labelled sporty coupĂ© line of the brand.

Designed by the Italian Garroni Design studio, this 14-meter boat encapsulates all the latest innovations that characterize the new models of this line.

First of all, an attractive sporty look merges with the surprising volumes offered both in the cabin and below deck. The exterior profile interprets the latest standards of yacht design, including the wide windows enveloping the superstructure and the gunwale, without never abandoning the traditional style of the Mediterranean open boats, characterized by streamlined bow and sheer.

The Mediterranean style is, for example, prestige-460s-jeanneau-flibs-5clear in the numerous fore open-air spaces and in the cockpit, where natural light floods the interior through the omnipresent side windows.

In addition, the electrically-operated sunroof and the full-width aft glass window minimize any separation between inside and outside by improving the enjoyability of the Prestige 460S. Passengers can therefore enjoy two different modes: open or coupé, according to the different weather conditions.

Noteworthy is the double soul of the cockpit that can function as an open-air dining area and a sunbathing platform thanks to its L-shaped convertible layout. The dining table can, in fact, be converted into a huge sun pad.

prestige-460s-jeanneau-flibs-4The rest of the main deck enhances this dual character, with the L-shaped galley positioned close to the front door in order to serve both guests in the cockpit and the inner dinette, located on the left and furnished with a table that seats 6 adults. Always on the left, an additional sofa and the double helm station complete the main deck layout. The sleeping area is on the lower deck and includes two cabins and a crew cabin.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta Ips engines. The Prestige 460S is offered in two different engine options: two IPS 500 370hp or two IPS 600 435hp engines. The boat can travel at a cruising speed of 25 knots prestige-460s-jeanneau-flibs-3while the top speed is expected to reach 33 knots. At high speed, the hull is extremely reliable and efficient: with 1,240 liters of fuel, the boat can cover 230 nautical miles by travelling at cruising speed. Range drops to just 10 nautical miles when throttling up.
