After ten days since it was seen the last time, there is very little hope to find Sirius, the vintage boat sailing from Cannes to Palma di Maiorca. Aboard, twere were two Spanish yachtsmen, Emilio and Alejndro Lopez (aged 40 and 62) left from the French city on April 29th and expected on the Spanish island on May 2nd.

Those days, a violent mistral was flowing at about 40 knots by provoking some very high waves (about 5 metres high). Since Sirius didn’t arrive as expected, French, Spanish and Italian maritime authorities started researches on May 2nd.

They are still searching them ( the boat seems to not have been provided with Epirb) but the situation, after more than ten days, is actually serious and there are no traces of Serius or its life raft.

Serius is a wonderful vintage sailing boat, built in 1937, with a length of 13 metres and English flag, designed by Sparkman & Stephens and later restored in Italy.
