ZUCCON ANNOUNCES PY HERITAGE 45 M CONCEPT FOR PICCHIOTTI YACHTS

The two protagonists that have given birth together to the new project of a large exclusive yacht need no introduction. One is Zuccon International Project, one among the most prestigious naval architecture studios in the world, founded by Gianni Zuccon and now led by his children, Martina and Bernardo. The other is Picchiotti Yachts, one among the main shipyards that have written the history of yachting industry in the world.

Yet, for the first time they have collaborated together to give birth to a concept project Picchiotti Yachts is currently proposing to its customers. It’s called PY Heritage 45 M,  a large yacht which perfectly combines the features of both a classic expedition yacht and a support vessel for the superyachts built by Perini Navi, the group which Picchiotti yachts belongs to.

The name of the PY Heritage (45 m long) is a tribute to Gerhard Gilgenast, who was naval architect and interior and exterior designer for some of the most iconic Picchiotti Yachts creations, and replicates his typical style now proposed in a modernised version.

The foreseen layout envisages enough space on the main deck and the forward section where to accommodate two tenders ( a sailboat and a motorboat) and two watercrafts.

This way, the recreational ship becomes a real support vessel to carry watertoys destined to superyacht guests.

Interiors feature a 3-metre height and a large use of glass in order to create a sort of continuity between inside and outside.

The master cabin, as well as guest ones, are all situated on the lower deck. This zone includes cabins featuring extraordinary sizes, especially as for the master one located on the aft section. Here, the absence of a garage has allowed to create a very large terrace.

When tenders are launched, the fore section of the upper deck converts itself into a wide lounge zone which can be enjoyed in continuity with exteriors and the aft cockpit in order to create a unique free area, totally dedicated to guest entertainment.

“I can’t help but feel extremely honoured by this new collaboration,” said architect Bernardo Zuccon. “Picchiotti doesn’t need any introduction because it has written an important chapter in yachting history both in Italy and worldwide. Setting out along this path is a source of pride for our firm, particularly as we are doing so with a project that is both experimental and extremely fascinating, as well as one that wants to pay tribute to an architect that has made an important contribution to Picchiotti Yachts over the years.”
